Traveler reviews
Great small group excursion to the Golden Circle
We had a wonderful small group Golden Circle excursion in Iceland. Our driver/ guide, Frederica, was fantastic- very informative and funny. Although the weather was blustery with periods of heavy rain my husband and I had a great time and saw so many amazing sights. I highly recommend this experience.
An adventure to the Golden Circle
Fredrica was an excellent guide and explained everything well with humor and interesting facts about the area. She took us to all the key places of the Golden Circle, just as advertised. A trip worth taking, even in the cold and rain of an August day.
Didn’t meet expectations
Pick up at the cruise terminal was chaotic but given the number of tour companies and buses, and cruise ship passengers, it was to be expected. The bus was small with seats close together - cramped for anyone over 5’10” tall. The speaker system did not work well, making it difficult to understand what the tour guide was saying. From the tour description we thought the tour guide would stay with us at each destination and tell us about each stop. Instead, she gave a very brief explanation (which again was hard to understand) and then dropped us off. The guide was friendly and took actions to make the tour easier and more enjoyable. We just wished there had been more and clearer information. For example, after the tour we learned about several historical sites in Thingvellir National Park. It would have been nice to have been told about them, or better yet, to have them pointed out.
Boring Tour Driver!
The tour was pretty in spite of the weather being terrible. Rainy and gloomy. Our tour operator did not “guide” and froze us in the van. One passenger was car sick so the other 18 of us suffered while he kept the inside temperature at too cold. I had on 4 layers of clothing which was fine for the outside temperature yet not enough for the majority of our tour inside the van. Also, the tour guides accent was very hard to understand. Perhaps he would be better served in administration for the operator rather than as a guide.
Great tour covering all...
Great tour covering all the interesting points. The guide/driver Greta did a fine job. Good timing and great stories.
