Great museum, rushed dinner

The museum part was excellent- the guide told us everything we needed to know without being long-winded. The gardens and restaurant are lovely. Downside was that the guide leaves before you eat - the waiter is supposed to call the driver when you are ready to go. The main course came immediately after the starter and we told him we needed 15 minutes to wait before we could fit in dessert. But he brought dessert immediately. A few minutes later he comes over with the bill and says our driver is waiting. We pointed out to him that we hadn't finished dessert yet and we also had bought a bottle of wine which was only half drunk. It spoilt the evening as we felt pressured to hurry up and leave. When we finally did go down to the street we couldn't find the driver in the dark - lots of cars parked there. Up the hill we went again and reception called the driver. He's there they said. Down the hill we went again and still couldn't see him - he was parked in a side street and he now got out of the car and waved at us. So all ok in the end but it wasn't very relaxing.

Wonderful evening!

We had a wonderful time! From start to finish, everything was as expected or in many ways, exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Ms. Herrera, and the driver were right on time meeting us at our hotel. Ms. Herrera was very friendly and knowledgeable abut Peru in general and specifically the pre-Colombian artifacts at the museum. The pace of the tour was good, and the information was concise. This is what we were hoping for, and was very much appreciated. What really stunned my entire family was the beauty of the Gardens, Museum, and especially the Restaurant. It was very lovely, elegant, and classy. It was the perfect send off for our last evening of our Peru vacation.

A lovely tour

Pickup was on time and the car was clean and comfortable. Our guide was fluent in English and provided an interesting commentary during our visit of Larco Museum. He didn't go into great in degree level depth detail, which honestly I would not want. He did, however, give historical context and made what I was seeing much more interesting by explaining where the artifacts were from, what they were made of, where they were traded from, and the purpose of the artifacts. He made the whole visit really interesting. The meal was lovely and in a beautiful setting. The driver was there ready and waiting at the end of the meal and safely navigated Lima's horrendous traffic to get us back at a good time.
