Traveler reviews
A must do when visiting Belfast
Fantastic experience, highly recommended, our guide Karl gave a lot of insights and recommendations!
Great day out from Belfast!
We had a great day out. The Causeway Coast was simply stunning. Time in each location was good. The extra information/tales from The Game of Thrones was appreciated as well as the banter.
Beautiful Day Tour Experience
This excursion was 9 hours of fun and something we won't forget! We saw so much of Northern Ireland's Antrim County from the iconic Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (from a distance), Dark Hedges, and the historic Old Bushmills Distillery (an unexpected bonus stop). Patrick was our driver and guide. He was an outstanding driver, friendly, and very entertaining throughout the entire tour. He was knowledgeable about the folklore, history of Northern Ireland, and Game of Thrones. He made sure each stop was smooth and that everyone knew what they were about to see, how long we would be there, and where to find food, drinks, and the toilets. We had a group of 55 people, and he always made sure we all were back on the bus before continuing to the next destination. Our last stop had one guy (who was lots of fun) not show up for 10 minutes past our leave time. Patrick waited and went out to look for him before arranging with another McComb's driver, who followed us most of the day, to take him back to Belfast. The lunch at Fullerton Arms was perfectly set up, and the food was delicious. There was a menu displayed on the bus, and you took a picture of it, and then we told Patrick what we wanted. He then relayed it to the restaurant. When we arrived at Fullerton Arms, our food came out not much later, which was great because we didn't waste time putting in an order and waiting for our food. The Fullerton Arms building even had one of the "Doors of Thrones". I didn't realize these existed, so thank you, Patrick, for pointing these out. They are stunning, wooden carved doors from the fallen Dark Hedge trees during the 2016 storm. If you are staying in Belfast, stop by the Visit Belfast Center near City Hall. They have a passport booklet with all the "Doors of Thrones". They were out of stock when I went to get one, but a PDF was available online. We will definitely add them to our next visit to Northern Ireland! A lot of time was spent on the bus, but the drive was very scenic and probably one of the best views I have had while on a day tour bus. We also lucked out because the weather was absolutely perfect. Overall, this was a well-organized tour, and the price was great for the distance covered and the sights seen while relaxing and meeting fellow travelers and GoT fans.
Trip
Overall was a good trip. Patrick was knowledgeable and provided historical background throughout. Seats on the bus were very small and cramped. We were the only ones on the bus who were told to bring our seat backs up no one else was. The bus started boarding earlier than listed and departed earlier. The tour being a full day tour was rushed due to time constraints which is understandable, but you only get a quick glimpse of some of the points of interest.
Extremely well organised, Fabulous trip
Patrick our driver made the trip both interesting with pertinent historical facts but also humour, which was much needed on return as nearly everyone on the bus got caught in an enormous downpour and we're soaked to the skin! Fabulous trip, with great scenery and timely stops, very well organised and great communication. Lunch was booked ahead by Patrick (that's separate to the trip and optional),it was so organised and tasty. Highly recommend using this company, especially Patrick as your driver!
