Today we will come and pick you up at your hotel or accommodation in Mulhouse.

Meet your English speaking local guide, expert of the Black Forest destination

In the morning, meet your English speaking guide who is an expert on Alsace and the Black Forest and who will go over the itinerary and program with you. Then, board your spacious, comfortable, air conditioned minivan and begin to make your way to Freiburg im Breisgau in the Black Forest.

Travel in a spacious Mercedes Minivan

Your private Tour will take place in one of our very spacious Mercedes Minivans. This vehicle can take up to 8 persons normally but on this occasion, the vehicle will only be for you. This allows you to choose the seat that you think best in terms of social distancing while still enjoying the information passed on by your guide.
 Depart for Freiburg, Germany

Leave the Alsace region on this full day tour and head towards southern Germany. Discover the University town of Freiburg, a town known for its ancient university and its medieval minster (Cathedral), for its cobbled plazas, its high standard of living and advanced environmental practices. This medieval town is situated in the heart of a major wine-growing region and is the primary entry point to the scenic beauty of the Black Forest.

This morning, follow your guide on a walking tour to discover all the main monuments and sights of the town. You will then have a short time to explore and tour the city on your own.

The town has more to offer than friendly faces alone, including one of Germany’s prettiest old quarters, with its characteristic Bächle – the narrow channels of water that run alongside the pavements. The historic city center is where the town hall is located. Dating back from the middle ages, the town Hall Square is where the statue of Berthold Schwarz is located – a Franciscan Monk who is said to have invented gunpowder circa 1350.

This is also one of the squares where the annual Christmas Market takes place. The town is also home to a number of beer gardens and famous breweries such as the feierling brewery. Another attraction to visit is the remaining city gates the only testimony left from the Middle Ages. Close to the tourist office is the Augustinian Museum that dates back to the 13th century.

Add to that a wealth of culture and history, lots of cafés and cosy bars, delicious regional food and scenic surroundings.

Then a trip through the Black Forest

After some free time for personal discovery and lunch at your own expense, your day tour from Colmar will head towards the scenic route of the Black Forest.

The Black Forest is a wooded mountain range bordered by the Rhine valley to the west and south. The highest peak is the Feldberg with an elevation of 1,493 meters (4,898 feet). The name Black Forest comes from the general dark color of the numerous pine trees that grow in this region. The Black Forest cake and the cuckoo clocks originate from this region.

The most popular destination of Germany, drive through surprising landscapes with spruce forest in the North, Vines in the central area and lakes and mountain peaks in the south. Follow the scenic route of the Black Forest passing small quaint mountain villages that border one of the most beautiful lakes of the area

The Black Forest is also known to have been the setting for the Brother Grimm Fairy tale of Hansel & Gretel. This is also the birthplace of the world renowned cuckoo clocks. During the day your guide will make different stops so that you can make the best out of this attractive destination.

You might also want to try the local food such as the cured meats or the world-famous Black Forest cake that leaves nobody indifferent!

If you are interested in the local wines produced here, it is possible for us to organize a wine tasting session in a carefully selected winery of the area. You can also ask your guide who can arrange for a wine tasting during the day if you inform him in the morning.

After the tour, return to Mulhouse.

We had a very fun day with Matt to Mont Saint-Mitchel. Matt is an excellent tour guide & he cared for his clients very much. He's an on time person. We learned a lot about the history of Saint-Mitchel via Matt. He made sure we have enough time browsing this beautiful UNESCO. We definitely recommend friends & family this tour. Thank you Matt

Pascal was, above all, a smiling whirlwind of energy from the very start — bursting with knowledge, passion, and just the right amount of dramatic flair. He painted the horror of the Omaha Beach invasion so vividly that we could practically hear the chaos, then marched us through the bunkers at Pointe du Hoc like we were on a mission ourselves. And before we even caught our breath, he had already catapulted us back to Bayeux at invasion speed. A legend in tour‑guide form. Thanks from Croatian Team😉

Our Normandy D-Day tour was well worth it and we so enjoyed our tour guide Matt. He made the tour engaging, entertaining and informative. The tour was just the right size and a half day was perfect for us. It would have been much harder to get around to the sites and understand each without the information that Matt was constantly sharing. There was hardly a time that Matt was not telling us what/how/when of what we were looking at. Thanks Matt!
