From there, Mandela was moved to the then Victor Verster Prison on 9 December 1988, where he lived in a private house inside the prison compound. Victor Verster, a farm prison, was often used as a stepping stone for releasing lower-risk political prisoners. Mandela served another 14 months at Victor Verster (Now called Drakenstein) Prison until his release on 11 February 1990. Poor Experience

I don't like to leave negative reviews but unfortunately I was not able to have the experience. I arrived early to the pick up point but the bus did not make the stop at the location. I ended up missing the experience. I was advised to make it to the final pickup point 10min away within 3 minutes and even attempting to do so, I did not make it there in time either. The company did not give me any alternative options and told me to resolve the refund with Viator so I can get reimbursed. In attempting to do so, Viator advised that the operator refused to provide the refund. A very perplexing situation overall and just unfortunate the company was unwilling to assist when they dropped the ball. I bet the experience is a positive and original one with enjoying the vineyards in South Africa but I cannot say I was able to have that. If I was able to be provided my refund, I would have just moved on and not left this review but I don't think they handled the situation correctly.

Recommended day out

Excellent trip. Horea was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun. Lots of lovely wine and information about them all. Able to look round other things of interest not just the wineries. Good value for money.

Sip and Sleep

Horea was a wonderful tour guide giving insight and history for each stop and Mo’s driving was nice and smooth which allowed for naps between wine tasting 😉
