Full description
The Battle of Gettysburg was one of the bloodiest conflicts in American history—and the town has never been the same. On Echoes of War, Ghost City’s all-ages walking tour, you’ll explore the eerie remnants of this historic clash and the ghost stories left behind.
This immersive 90-minute tour focuses on the real people of Gettysburg—soldiers, civilians, and even students—whose lives were forever changed by three days of brutal combat. From makeshift hospitals to haunted inns and dormitories, you’ll learn how townspeople became caretakers for the wounded, and how some of those spirits never moved on.
Guests will hear stories of ghostly nurses tending to soldiers who never made it home, mysterious figures pacing Civil War-era bedrooms, and eerie encounters inside some of the most storied buildings in town. Whether it’s a phantom cat curled up in a historic inn or an elevator ride back to a 19th-century battlefield, these tales are grounded in real history—and real hauntings.
Echoes of War is perfect for families, history lovers, and ghost story fans who want to connect with Gettysburg’s past in a meaningful (and sometimes chilling) way. The war may be over, but its echoes remain.
