Itinerary
WALLS TOUR: Our meeting point, this is where the guide will meet and greet the guests! Discover the beauty of Dubrovnik while learning about the city’s interesting past on this historical walking tour. Meet your local guide near Pile Gate for a tour of the ancient city walls, a 1.2-mile (2-km) complex structure built in the 14th century that served as defensive structures to protect the city.
After meeting in Pile area, in front of Sky bar, begin the journey through history and through Old Town. Pass the Franciscan Monastery and admire Orlando’s Column, a monument on the Stradun inspired by the city’s long-standing freedom and sovereignty. See, too, Onofrio’s Fountain, built in 1438 at the end of a 8-mile (12-km) aqueduct that gave the city its water supply.
Pass by: We enter the old town, then head towards the city walls entrance.
We will stop to buy the city walls tickets and then we will walk the city walls. Marvel at the beautiful blue colors of the Adriatic Sea and admire breathtaking views of the port and the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while your guide takes you through the history of the city walls. In the 11th century, the sea channel separating the city from mainland was covered up with earth, so a single wall was built to enclose the present-day Old Town. The city walls have been restored several times in history to resemble their original appearance. With your guide, see Fort Revelin and Minceta Tower within the city walls (entrance fees not included), and learn the strategic position of these forts and their role in Dubrovnik's history. You will also see Fort Lovrijenac in the distance, the only fort that belongs to the city walls but it's physically separated from them, and which you may visit after the tour. As you wander around Dubrovnik's ancient walls, your guide will explain the defensive and political challenges faced by Dubrovnik in the past. Hear stories of the rivalry and conquest Dubrovnik has faced and learn the secrets of how the country used defensive fortifications and diplomacy to remain an independent republic for several years, before ending your tour near the port. *Entrance fee to City Walls not included in price.
The main square of the old town, several stories covered here (St.Blaise's church, Orlando's column, Sponza Palace, Small Onofrio's Fountain, Bell tower...)

Traveler reviews
We did the old town...
We did the old town walking tour with Branko and the city wall tour with Davor. Both tour guides were exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed both tours. Both tours were well organized and provided a great deal of information in an interesting engaging way. Both tour guides spoke excellent English. I would highly recommend this company.
Amazing view and history
Excellent tour, and the guide was so full great information. It's absolutely worth doing this tour for the views, the history and a base orientation.
Excellent - can’t miss tour
My family and I (7 adults) attended the combo city walls and old town tour with Davor and I cannot say enough good things about this experience. Davor was the most knowledgeable tour guide I have ever worked with in Europe. He was engaging, entertaining, and extremely knowledgeable. He not only welcomed questions but gave thoughtful answers that made me feel like I got to know the city at a deeper level. In a few hours, we learned not just the fascinating general history that made Dubrovnik what it is today, but gained a better understanding of how everyday life worked for Dubrovnik’s citizens of the past and the present. I cannot recommend Davor enough.
Amazing tour with Davor!
We toured with Davor for the City Wall and also with Old Town; he is fantastic! Very very knowledgeable, quite informative! He does not waste any time, talked fast but well paced (with walking as well). He encouraged questions and answered them all! We highly recommend Davor! ☺️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This is a great pair of...
This is a great pair of tours of the walls and the city. Gorun was our guide for both tours and he was a font of historic and modern information. Be prepared for a long walk and a lot of steps during the wall tour, but it was worth it.
