Next, we’ll stop at Astoria Bakery, a Greektown staple that shines even brighter during the holidays. This family-owned favorite offers an array of festive baked goods alongside its classic treats, blending old-world Greek traditions with seasonal flavors that make every bite feel like a celebration.
From here, we head to the lively area near the Shinola Hotel, where holiday décor and twinkling lights bring extra magic to the streets. Enjoy expertly crafted coffee and creative desserts while exploring a neighborhood that blends Detroit’s industrial roots with its thriving arts and culture scene, all wrapped in seasonal charm.
In nearby Parker’s Alley, tucked behind the Shinola Hotel, you’ll discover an artisanal chocolate shop filled with festive confections. With its cozy cobblestone pathway and boutique feel, this hidden gem becomes even more enchanting during the holidays.
Our tour continues to Cannelle, a beloved patisserie offering elegant pastries with a seasonal twist. Inspired by French baking traditions, their holiday creations add a touch of warmth and sophistication to Detroit’s already rich culinary landscape.
Finally, we’ll end at Campus Martius, the heart of downtown Detroit and a true winter wonderland during the holidays. Reviews
The tour was quite long and it was difficult to keep the kids engaged. The donut store was the best stop where we got to choose a donut. At the rest of the stops the food items were pre ordered and we didn’t get a choice which was a bit disappointing. I was also unhappy that the tour ended at a different location to the starting point - we were handed a map and had to find our own way back. Having never been to Cork before, this wasn’t particularly easy and we had to run to catch our train back to Cobh.
It was a pleasant tour our guides new the area very well
Kat was a great guide. The donuts were delicious and she also included a lot of history of Toronto. The walk was an easy pace and gave us time to prepare for the next round. She provided us with other places to taste Toronto food and there was time to grab some of that food too. We loved the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto!
