Expecting to see...

Expecting to see whales....but it was very hard....at least we saw 3/4 times whales during last 90 minutes. The guide was not always heard from the outside.

A great crew that are passionate about whales

With whale watching it is never a forgone expectation that you will see them. Our expectation was that this area had a lot of whales. Fortunately, we did manage to see 1 whale. The crew was excellent, passionate and well studied. I really appreciated how they kept us engaged and answered our questions. The boat was full sometime making it difficult to get a good view. Again the crew did manage to find spots. I didn’t realize how far we traveled in the first two hours. It took us the entire 3rd hour and then some to get back to the dock I would recommend this tour.

We saw whales but...

The boat we were on was very spacious with a small concession with inside, covered seating. We did see some whales on the tour. Most of the guests stayed outside to watch for the whales. Laws in Iceland regarding marine life are very different than in North America. We watched another tour boat literally chasing one of the whales. That was a bit disturbing to us. Our boat did not engage in the chase.

Two whales spotted and had a nice afternoon

The reception in the shop was already pleasant. My daughter was afraid of seasickness. But nothing bothered her. 2 whales were soon spotted, and we stayed close to that for a long time. Wonderful to see them fishing. Of course, you can see them best outside, and to avoid cold and wetness, you can easily borrow overalls. Nice and warm! The guide could tell nicely, especially at the times when there was nothing to see. We enjoyed it!

A Whale of a Time

It was a great experience. The guide really knew her business and was very informative. Whales were very cooperative, and appeared as promised.
