Itinerary
Pass by: Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the renown Douro region. On your way to the Douro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage. Half Way through the drive to the Douro Region we will do a short stop for a coffee break.
Welcome to the Douro Region, famous for it's valley, Unesco World Heritage site, the oldest demarked wine region with unique landscapes of vineyards and the magical Douro river giving you the perfect background for a day of amazing wine tastings.
Arriving in Sabrosa we will do our first visit of the day. We will discover the first of two wineries where you learn about the wine production and history of Douro Region, and its wines. You will have the oportunity to taste different wines before the lunch. A complete lunch will be served by the end of the visit: a full traditional portuguese meal with entrance, main dish, dessert, pairing with Douro red or white wine.
After lunch we will drive through the windy Douro roads on the way to Pinhão and we will do a quick photo stop at one of the most impressive viewpoints of the region. Enjoy the views and share with your friends and collegues on social media!
It's now time to sail! Enjoy a 50 minutes scenic cruise on the Douro river departing from Pinhão on board of a traditional Rebelo boat.
Pass by: National Road 222: drive through the most beautiful road in the world Did you know that one of the most beautiful roads in the world is Portuguese? We talk about the Estrada Nacional 222, which takes you to discover the incredible Douro wine region. On our tour will pass on this amazing road and point out the most scenic views.
Our wine tour is not over yet! There is time to visit one more renown Winery. The winery expert guide will walk you through the estate ,explaining the process from the vinyard to the bottle ending with a magnificent tasting of three different types of wines.

Really well curated and thought out experiences. I loved all of the wineries we went to and the guide was very engaging!
Full day port wine tour
We were very happy with our Viator-booked experience with Pedro Xavier and driver Joel; Pedro made the nine hour round-trip enjoyable with knowledge-sharing and jokes, and Joel was a safe driver. The group size was around fifteen people, mainly couples. Altogether the experience is worth what we paid, but a few things to note: - The meeting point is not exactly where Viator advises, so suggest you are alert for Living Tours representatives nearby. - The tour is focused on port wine, not usual wine. So prepare for very strong consumption without being offered water or tonic to lower the strength - this would have been great on our hot day, too. - The food was great, however if you have intolerances or allergies I suggest you double check with the waiters what has been served to you. Despite requesting gluten-free on the bus, I was given a gluten-containing dessert. Luckily it was possible to swap this, but only because I checked.

It was amazing tour! Our guid Pedro Xavier did the greatest job! It was super friendly and interesting experience. The whole trip took something about 10 hours, but it was sooooo entertaining! At first we were hesitating to book a trip, but we absolutely do not regret. Costs every euro spent on that! Wine is tasty , nature amazing! Good opportunity meet new people ♥️
A must-do!
An absolute must-do for any Portugal itinerary! We only had two days in Porto and booked a last-minute trip to the Douro Valley. It was the best decision we made. Our team Pedro Xavier (guide) and Joel (driver) was exceptional. Pedro was so passionate and knowledgeable, bringing the whole region to life. If you are hesitating to book a day trip here, trust me just go for it! You won't regret it.
