Traveler reviews
Don’t need dinner reservations
The morning started with a pickup at our air b&b by an air conditioned van. There were 3 of us and a total of 8 people. We started with a stop at a small little town for coffee and pastries. I recommend you get something to eat because there will be a lot of wine. Pro tip: don’t skip the church. We then ventured to the 1st winery where we sampled 3 wines (a white, a rose, and a red). There was some bread to cleanse the palette between wines. We also tasted 3 different honeys they make. And finished with their port. On to the cruise . Short but beautiful views. We sat on the outside part of the boat that was open but covered, so no direct sun. There was a nice cross breeze. On to the 2nd winery where we had three more wines (again a white, rose, and a red) with a wonderful lunch. The food was fantastic and as much as you wanted to eat. There was a traditional Portuguese rice dish and pork that cut with a fork. My travel companions were pescatarian and were served falafel instead of pork. The meal ended with a classic Portuguese creme brulee type dessert. Did i mention the unlimited refills of wine? They kept refilling our wine glasses as well as kept trying to put more food on our plates. Lunch was at 230 pm We ate and drank so much that there’s no need for dinner. Pretty much everyone napped in the van on the drive home. It was a good day.
Great tour guide but lunch and winery not worth it
The views were spectacular. Bind is a skilled driver. Our guide Slimmy had such a wonderful knowledge and was entertaining. Lunch was average but the wine (both red & white) rubbish. The winery was underwhelming. I would recommend our guide but choose another tour.
10/10 would recommend
My mom, my sister, and I had an amazing time with our guide Ana. She provided a lot of fun facts and humor to the trip. The wine was great and the food was fantastic!
Fantastic tour and a must do!
Fantastic tour of the Duoro valley and our guide, Ana, was wonderful. Lots of information and the wine tastings were great. The lunch was exceptional. Crude on the Duoro river was amazing as well. Highly recommend for nature and wine lovers alike.
Super fun tour!
Louis Matus is an excellent tour guide. We would be pleased to have him guide us again.
