Traveler reviews
Magical
One of the best attractions in Europe, we spent 3 days here with our young son and seeing his face when meeting the characters and on the rides was truly worth every single penny. I had previously heard of the term ‘Disney Magic’ being used and it made complete sense to me whilst here. The staff in the main were wonderful and made the experience even better. Ride wait time were reasonable and we waited no more than 30 minutes. We stayed on site at the Santa Fe hotel which although is on the cheaper end of the spectrum, was still perfect for what we needed, and only a short walk from the parks itself. We will surely be returning very soon.
Disney with family
Too long lines for attractions that are too short, no fireworks due to the heat, no parade, escalators out of order. Restaurants that are way too expensive The first park is aging, many attractions are out of order, and the magic is no longer there. We experienced Disney in Florida and Disney in France at the very beginning; they are nothing alike. I was very disappointed.
Poor service
We went during a heatwave that had been known for several weeks in advance. They did not provide more water fountains or umbrellas or anything to help speed up the lines. And to make them bearable. The only thing they could think of was to close the attractions; in the end, we paid the same as if the park were fully operational. We were in a four-star superior Disney hotel in Newport, and the air conditioning in the rooms was not working well, nor was the ice machine. It only worked for one day. On another day, they forgot to service the two rooms we were staying in.
A shame
Visit for 2 days during the heat wave. Nothing is suitable for the situation. We encountered 3 misters that didn't even provide any coolness. Very little shade, no benches, not even a water jet or a water ride to cool off or wet the children. It was even dangerous. Half of the rides were closed!! As a result, the waiting times are extended. Nothing is done to optimize the waiting times. Nothing is indicated in the park to help navigate, so we waste time. Then we understand better why they sell passes for priority access in the lines. It is a shame at the price we pay for our stay. The shows are canceled. The characters are exhausted from the heat, so they either don't stay long or are just absent, but we wait in the full sun. An "adapted" show... The food and the waiting lines for the restaurants are absurd once again in the sun. The points to buy drinks or food are closed. And to top it off, a horrible night at the hotel in Santa Fe. I made the children sleep with wet cloths. The heat exceeded 35 degrees in the room. No air conditioning, but also no possibility to open a window to bring in some fresh air. A shame and a danger, especially for children. We would have slept better outside. Compared to certain competitors, the quality is incomparable. I made a complaint but still have not received a response. In the morning, I went to the reception to see if it was possible to get compensation (offering a meal or pass cuts), and I was handed the QR code to make a complaint. Not to mention the friendliness of the staff; be careful not to try to look at a dingo without waiting in line, otherwise you will be reprimanded immediately.
Not very customer friendly
Because of the heat, a lot of attractions were closed so my children actually couldn't do a lot of attractions they were looking forward to. That a lot was going to be closed was also not communicated in advance. I had to find out for myself and by then it was too late to cancel for free. There was supposedly going to be drinking water provided but in reality you had to queue in the heat for half an hour to get this drinking water... also fogging systems were going to be provided for the heat, I have seen 2 of which 1 was not open. In queues no precautions taken for the heat and sun. The indicated waiting times were incorrect: a 50’ waiting time was in reality 90’. (in the heat) extra seats were not provided, terraces with umbrellas were closed. Due to the closure of many attractions it became very busy at the open attractions so we were able to do very little. The open attractions also regularly stopped, which also increased the waiting time there. In several shops there were no chilled drinks. Lots of closed stalls too.
