Pickup in and around Dijon
Today, your English‑speaking wine expert will meet you at your chosen pickup point in Dijon or the surrounding area, whether that is the train station, your hotel, an Airbnb or private accommodation. After a brief introduction, your guide will review the day’s program and itinerary with you, then you will settle into your premium, air‑conditioned vehicle and set off towards the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune.

Arriving in Côte de Beaune
Soon you arrive in the Côte de Beaune, the southern half of the Côte d’Or, a renowned Burgundy sub‑region that stretches for around 20–25 kilometers and produces both red and white wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This historic area, once referred to as “vin de Beaune”, was formally classified under the AOC system in the 1930s and today includes illustrious Grands Crus such as Corton, Corton‑Charlemagne and Montrachet, alongside villages with Premier Cru climats including Aloxe‑Corton, Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Chassagne‑Montrachet and Santenay.

Route des Grands Crus drive
Following the Route des Grands Crus, you travel through rolling vineyards and classic wine villages like Meursault, Volnay, Pommard, Puligny‑Montrachet and Chassagne‑Montrachet, where Chardonnay produces some of Burgundy’s most acclaimed whites and Pinot Noir shines in refined, age‑worthy reds. At your first estate, you enjoy a guided tasting of Côte de Beaune wines in the cellar or tasting room, with your wine‑expert guide on hand to explain appellations, terroirs and winemaking styles as you sample.

Two Burgundy tastings
A second tasting awaits at another carefully selected domaine, giving you the chance to compare expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from different plots and producers within the same region. Here you can explore everything from fresh, lightly oaked whites to elegant, nuanced reds, and ask all the questions you wish about Burgundy’s classifications, labels and cellaring potential.

Return to Dijon
After this final stop, you return comfortably to Dijon with your guide, who will drop you off at your original meeting point or nearby, bringing your private Côte de Beaune wine day to a close.

A pleasant short boat ride, beautiful surroundings. But the English translation did not fit with the altered tour, did not mention plenty of formations that the guide was explaining in French and didn't bother to switch to English for the rest of us (yes he knew English), so we missed out on a lot. Plus the guide made fun of english speakers, as evidenced by the pointed laughter in the direction of those wearing headphones.

Our guide was excellent, both knowledgeable and friendly. She was especially knowledgeable about the wine industry even before we got to the vineyards
