Itinerary
Pass by: Start this tour directly from your hotel or apartment in Barcelona city. We come to pick you up, so please be sure to let us know exactly where you are staying. Enjoy an overview of Barcelona city on the way to Costa Brava, pass by Catalunya Square, Barcelona Cathedral, Passeig de Gracia and the Gaudi Houses, such as the Batllo and the Pedrera, and many other highlights.
Costa Brava is certainly one of the most important and unmissable travel destinations in Spain. With its rugged coast and rocky cliffs, this area is full of hidden natural coves surrounding crystal clear waters, whose waves splash up against the shore of fisherman villages, full of history and charm. On the road and between the different destination from this trip, enjoy panoramic views and stop at several viewpoints to take pictures of the magnificent natural landscape, which blends bright greens with the wonderful turquoise blue of the sea. Enjoy the ancient Greek and Roman ruins and learn about how these people once lived.
Head to Empúries, the only archaeological site on the Iberian Peninsula where the remains of a Greek city Emporion coexist with those of a Roman city, Emporiae. It is also the gateway to classical culture: 10 centuries of history that transformed forever the ancient Iberian people who lived there. Follow their footsteps as you explore their city, their streets, houses, temples and markets.
Get to know Sant Marti d’Empuries, a small town built next to one of the most important ports of the Roman Empire. The place remains a medieval town today, with conserved wall and narrow, picturesque alleys.
Continue the tour to l’Estartit, the principal port and one of the diving destinations of Costa Brava. We invite you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Costa Brava in a 1.5-hour panoramic boat ride with underwater vision. The boat takes you to the Medes Islands, located along the Montgrí coast with more than 10 km of cliffs, small coves, and caves and the fortified mansions that move us to a time where they lived with the fear of attacks by pirates. If you prefer to skip the boat, enjoy some free time in the charming town of l’Estartit.
The Medes Islands is a small archipelago, located in the Mediterranean Sea, one mile of the Montgrí Coast and l’Estartit. The archipelago is formed by seven little islands and reefs which are home to an underwater site of extraordinary biological and ecological value. In 2010, The Medes Islands was declared as Protected National Nature Park and its ecosystem has been classified as the best Marine Reserve in the Western Mediterranean. Explore the flora and fauna that this pearl of the region has to offer and take the chance to take a deep dive in the crystalline waters of a Mediterranean cove, surrounded by caves and natural life.

Traveler reviews
Amazing experience
A phenomenal experience, but the best thing about this tour was definitely Gaspar, our guide, who made this experience unforgettable.
Wonderful day
I was so impressed with our guide, Gaspar and our day. The boat ride went to a beautiful cove. The ruins were much larger than we thought and amazing and right by the sea. The restaurant was chosen with care. It was local and delicious. We also stopped at a medieval town that was beautiful. And at the same time all the power went out in Spain but Gaspar managed to still give us an excellent day.
Great tour guide.
Gaspar was a wonderful tour guide. Picked us up promptly, took us to the boat ride first since it looked like it might rain later. Made reservations at a local restaurant, at our request, which was delicious. Gave us a lot of history during the drive, of the regions we were traveling through and Empuries. Best day we had on this vacation to Barcelona!
Costa Brava & Empuries tour
Vincent was fantastic. Very Knowledgeable, and extremely well spoken. He was very engaging with my teenage daughter and my 9 year old son. The ruins were fascinating, and Vincent took the time to chat one on one with each child and explain the history. Truly an exceptional experience for the family. And also our driver Joaquin, who was great, got us to our destinations and back in a timely manner. Big thank you to all!
Interesting site
The museum is small, because of the works I think. But the visit to the Greek site and the Roman site are interesting and pleasant, under the sun of Empuries. the audio guide handed in at the entrance is interesting and allows to project into the sites in the time of their fullness, before they become ruins. The reconstructed mosaics are beautiful.
