Itinerary
We will begin with a drive along the coast. On the way you will view of some Greek seaside villages and the island of Salamis (where the historical naval battle took place between the Athenians and the Persians). Our first stop the Corinth Canal. Opened in 1892 separating the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of Greece and connecting the Saronic Gulf to the Corinthian Sea. You will have time to walk across on a pedestrian bridge to admire the canal closer, (if you’re game) on some days bungee jumping is an option.
Ancient Corinth, located at the foot of the hill includes the Roman Agora of Corinth, the temple of God Apollo and a small museum. Apart from its archaeological and historical interest Ancient Corinth is also one of the most popular religious destinations in Greece as this was where the Apostle Paul preached Christianity, was judged by the tribunal in the Agora and established the best organized Christian church of that period.
We will visit the Temple of Apollo which is located in the in the Ancient city of Corinth. The temple of Apollo at Corinth is one of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland. Built around 560 B.C.E., of local monolithic limestone on top of an imposing, rocky hill to the north of Acrocorinth, the Archaic temple was an emblem for the Greek city of Corinth, reflecting its growth and prosperity.
Ancient Corinth is dominated by the hill of Acrocorinth, the oldest and largest castle in southern Greece. We will do a short photo stop at the imposing fortress.
Pass by: We will drive back to Athens.

Excellent
We had an excellent experience. The Corinth Canal, Olive Oil tasting , ancient Corinth, excellent lunch at a quaint local spot and so much more! There are not enough words to tell how excellent our guide, Andreas, was! We felt like we had made a wonderful friend and his love and knowledge for his country is so evident! Thank you Andreas for both of our tours and your excellent guidance!
Good experience
It was a very good experience, the olive tasting was fantastic. Theodore was very knowledgeable and professional. I've learned a lot.
History, fruit, olive oil and reasons to come back!
We booked a private day tour to Corinth, including an stop at the canal, a fortress, and a local Olive Oil Company. We were picked up promptly at our flat in a clean vehicle with a friendly welcoming smile. Alex was such a pleasure to spend the day with. We discussed Greek politics, economy, history, and language. He was engaging and happy to have genuine and honest conversation no matter what our questions. A wealth of knowledge and a kind demeanor. We will happily book with him again when we return to spend more time exploring the region. The cost is worth the experience and benefits to not have to wait for bus loads of strangers and traffic. It truly felt like we were just on the road hanging out with a local friend. We were even able to stop by a small local market on the way to pickup some regional fruit.
Amazing experience!
We all had such a great time on this tour! Our driver Terry was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He was very accommodating with time and other stops we were interested in making. The olive oil tasting was so nice, and the facility is beautiful! Olives were out of season when we went, so there was no fruit on the trees. I can only imagine how amazing this tour would be when they are in season!
Fantastic Experience Overall
I was curious to know what this tour would bring that’s why I have included this in my itinerary. I wasn’t wrong because it I didn’t expect to enjoy this tour very well. Thanks to our tour guide Alexander, he drove me to the location with so much enthusiasm and excitement. He always put smile on his face which makes the tour more friendly and enjoyable. He even gave me a free Fredo coffee because he knows I like it. Alexander is the best tour guide that I knew of. He knows so much about the rich history of Greece. He guided me on how to go to places and recommended sites where I can shop and dine. We went to the Canal first which has nice stories into it. The view from the bridge was magnificent. Alexander mentioned that some people does jump from it as a sport. Well that was nerve wracking! Then, to the olive oil tour. It was a different experience than I expected because the 4th generation owner (Nikkos) who was on site, let’s you witness the entire process from the cultivation, to harvesting to smashing and filtering process plus a virtual tour for that extra unique experience. Everything were well explained and questions were all answered. I recommend this tour most especially for olives and olive oil lovers. There is an olive oil tasting included which I think was a fantastic part it. They also have the bottles ready for purchases if you wish so. I recommend this tour!
