We loved our trips with Wild Rover so much! First we did Kilkenny/Glendalough/Wicklow with Liam as our guide (and our wonderful driver). Liam made our trip so memorable, full of history and humor. Kilkenny has my heart! Then another trip to Cliffs of Moher & Galway City! Our guide Matt & driver Joe were great. Matt’s commentary was very poetic & humorous. This is definitely an express trip so if you’re on a time crunch from Dublin, this is the one. Thank you!!

Liam was the best tour guide I’ve ever had on a guided tour. Not only was he so incredibly knowledgeable about the country, he was HILARIOUS. Marco was a fantastic driver that also had a great sense of humor. I took the tour to Kilkenny and Glendalough, and you would be missing out if you didn’t get to visit these places while in Ireland. Do it with Wild Rover, and hopefully you’ll get Liam as your guide!

Fantastic tour with Elisa and John

We often do tours like this when we visit new areas, and I can say this is one of the best we have ever done. On our first time to Ireland, we weren't sure which one to choose, but we liked the idea of watching a sheepherding demonstration, so we chose this one. We loved it and can highly recommend it to any visitors to Ireland. I was already happy when we went to board the bus in the morning and saw that it was a comfortable full-size bus, unlike a smaller passenger van I have had on other tours, which are much more cramped. I wish they had a toilet on board, as buses of this size often do, but that's the only thing I could suggest for improvement. But the tour stops were spaced out enough that it wasn't a problem. I just didn't have coffee that morning before the tour. This tour was well organized and our guide, Elisa, was a complete delight. Funny and genuine and with an obvious deep knowledge about Irish history that she filled us in on along the way. Our first stop, the beautiful town of Kilkenny, made me wish I lived there! A quiet, small city but also with good restaurants and nice shops for buying genuine wool Irish souvenirs. Elisa was very good at giving us a rundown before each stop, telling us what we would be seeing, and even showing us a map or list of suggestions that we could photograph before we got there. Kilkenny included a brief free walking tour with Elisa that you can do or just spend the full time in town exploring. We did the brief tour, which was excellent, and then went to the very old church with the tower that you can climb to get a view of the area. What a beautiful little city, so peaceful and pretty. I could easily imagine living there. If you are looking for quality Irish items, spend time at the Irish Design Centre (I think it's called), Elisa points it out near the bus stop. I left it too late before we had to be back on the bus but after a brief look there wish I had spent more time. They have very nice sweaters, blankets, scarves etc of very good quality. We enjoyed the beautiful Irish countryside (yes as green as they say). We found the stop with the two lakes a bit underwhelming. The second upper lake, which takes a while to get to along a long path, is not really that exciting or unusual. But by the time we got there only had time for quick photo before heading back to the bus. Would recommend just staying in the food area after visiting the very old stone ruins there, if you didn't get something to eat in Kilkenny. The sheepherding demonstration was wonderful, and my friend enjoyed the chance to hold a baby lamb after the demonstration. So cute. Although I think I also won't be able to eat lamb again, after seeing one up close and realizing how cute they are. John our driver was very good at navigating the sometimes narrow country roads, so we appreciated that we didn't have the stress of driving in unfamiliar areas. We arrived back in Dublin early enough to still have a nice dinner on our last night in the city. The price is also very reasonable. About half of what we paid for a similar-length tour in Scotland the week before. Thank you Elisa and John and Wild Rover for the excellent day tour. Such a nice thing to do on our first time in Ireland.

Personal experience being l beyond the educating.

Liam, a native of Kilkenny, really brought forth a personal touch to the tour. Singing with the group as well as giving insight to his home and his country to welcome us all in. He took us on a personal tour of Kilkenny hitting the local highlights and giving his unique perspective. The Glendalough tour helped those involved to partake in centering hike. The sheep dog demonstration was fun and gave insight into the life of a sheep farmer.

Learn from the past...

Una,our tour guide is a native of Belfast. She gave a great deal of history and insight into growing up there. We opted for the Black Cab tour. Learning the experiences of those who have dealt with prejudices and hardship first hand was sobering. It Black Cab tour guide brought tears to our eyes giving first hand accounts throughout the tour. Sobering yes, but he did it in way that was heart warming. Definitely take advantage of this if you have the chance because as time goes on, there are fewer drivers with the first hand experience. The tour of the castle was incredible. Well maintained and accessible. Guides on site have insight on not only the history but the lives lived during that time. The giants causeway was beautiful and a great chance for a walk in nature.

This was an absolitley...

This was an absolutley beautiful experience. The ride was great and our guide was so informative and kind. The placea we went to were steeped in beauty, culture, and history. It was lovely having such an informative guide tell us about the differing histories of buildings and sites we passed, while also learning about Irish culture and way of life.

Beautiful beyond imagination

Sean was a great guide. Throughout the tour he but only explained the sites that we were, but historical and modern insight into the places along the way. The Cliffs are a must see for movie goers as many movies use this location for filming. Ennis town was a nice visit with great food. Sean made sure to order ahead and reserve a spot for us to make sure that we had time to explore this very friendly town a bit. Then off to Bunratty Castle. Great experience of a "living museum" feel. Many of the buildings were broken down, brought to the site and preserved for history. Those working did their best to help you feel as though you were there in the Castles time. Great experience all around.

Even though the tour is...

Even though the tour is roughly 13 hours, it didn’t seem that long. We did the Black Cab vs the Titanic & we’re very happy we did. So much history there that we didn’t really know. The Dulce Castle was amazing but the Giant Causeway definitely was the highlight of this tour for us.
