Au début, nous avons eu...
Au début, nous avons eu une jeune fille qui nous a amené jusqu'aux gondoles en passant par des ruelles et en nous expliquant la construction de VENISE et des gondoles, ça c'était très bien ! Nous avons pris les gondoles mais aucun commentaire comme il est énoncé et les gondoliers passaient plus de temps à parler entre eux qu'à nous faire visiter. Nous avons fait le tour d'un quartier de maisons, c'est tout. Après, la jeune fille nous a amené dans une librairie pour visionner une vidéo avec un casque virtuel 3D, ça c'était très bien aussi ! Déçus de la balade en gondole.

Boat Beats the Bustle
Loved the ship, the views were amazing, and it was very nice to get outside of heavily crowded historic Venice for a little bit. Being out on the water was also a lovely reprieve from the heat. Alice was a very informative tour guide and did her job very well, adding in personal recommendations for dining or future sites to visit. I do think that this crowd was a little too big for properly viewing the lace stitching and the glass blowing demonstration. Fortunately, we did have a little extra time to walk by the woman making lace in Burano to get a closer look, but then we wound up separated from the group for a few minutes until we found them again. In Murano, we couldn't see ANYTHING, so we went into the shop portion early to peruse on our own. We were able to go upstairs and really appreciate the artistry and diversity of glass blowing on the island. And when we went downstairs later, the glass blower was still working, so we were then able to see him for a few minutes with only a dozen of so other people before we had to get back to the boat.
