We rented bikes, but did not do a tour. They have kid sized bikes, which is nice and they are directly across the street from the train station. You can also Uber, which is about $20. Everyone at the bike shop speaks English. Note: You cannot bring bikes into the formal gardens. The gardens we toured by bike were incredible. The paths were very shady due to all the trees. I did not enjoy biking from the bike shop along the street with cars to get to the gardens. That was definitely a little frightening. Overall we had a great day. We opted to not tour the palace. The crowds at the palace were insane! Also - Fat Tire Tours, Versailles has an 800 number where you can book by phone. Super easy and they speak English.

If you go to DC you should definitely do this tour. Jose, our tour guide, took us to the main memorials and he made sure that we all felt good with our bikes and he explained us a lot about the places that we visited. Bikes were great and allowed us to go to many sites and we also had time to walk around the memorials and take pictures at our own pace.
