We had a fabulous time on our bike tour of Versailles. Bartik was great at keeping the group together and safe - and sharing his knowledge of the grounds and its’ history. Shopping at the quaint market, biking through the beautiful grounds, and relaxing by the canal with our picnic lunch were a highlight of our trip!

We arrived at the same time as a larger group leaving for a tour and were shouted at to go to their location up the street. After not understanding the one sentence directions I went back to look at the map on the wall for clarification and was shouted at again the same unhelpful one sentence direction (for the record, both locations have extremely poor signage). The bikes we received both had chains falling off multiple times during our visit over 2 days. Unless my bike was in a specific set of gears the chain would fall off, my partners bike chain would slip every couple blocks. We didn't have time in our short visit to go back and exchange them but based on how little they seemed to care when we told them I doubt the other bikes are in better shape. Additionally, the bikes both had extremely squeaky brakes, and came without basic reflectors or lights. Unfortunately, we didn't realize this until after sunset. Tldr; 2 stars because they did rent us bikes, but the bikes were iffy and service was poor.
