This was hands down one of the best tours I did while visiting New York! Dan took us on an incredible bike tour through Central Park and made the whole experience so enjoyable—even for someone like me who hadn’t been on a bike in years. He made sure we felt completely comfortable and at ease, giving us helpful tips along the way. What really set this tour apart was Dan’s personal touch. He went above and beyond to make it special, even playing music from each of our home countries as we rode through the park. He took great videos of us cycling, capturing the fun moments, and even stopped at the John Lennon memorial to sing along with a busker, which was such a unique and memorable moment! On top of all that, we learned so much about the history of Central Park—things we never would have known without a guide. Dan shared fascinating stories and details that made us appreciate the park even more. If you’re coming to New York and want to explore Central Park in a fun and engaging way, I can’t recommend this tour enough. Dan’s passion, energy, and attention to detail made it an unforgettable experience!

I should have known that the $300 weekly rental fee was too good to be true. When I arrived at Unlimited Biking on Miami Beach, a sole employee was on staff, wrestling with an inner tube for the bike I had reserved the day before. As he struggled with the stubborn rubber, he explained how there were no bikes that didn’t need work done on them, yet he was the only employee there. Not keen on waiting, I asked him if there were any bikes available in the size just below the one I’d reserved, and he pulled one off the rack, warning me that it, like most of the others, was not shifting properly. I took it for a spin up the street—the only problem was that it wouldn’t shift into the lowest gear; however, as a Vermonter I didn’t think I’d be needing that gear over the course of the next week cycling around Miami. Unlike other bike shops I’ve rented from, Unlimited doesn’t provide a multi-tool or extra inner tube (although, they do provide a heavy chainlink lock and capacious handlebar bag to put it in); however, the employee on staff was nice enough to send me off with two Allen wrenches so I could dial in my saddle position and head unit mount as needed. The bike ended up performing fine; it was actually a nice, reasonably light, snappy little Cannondale. And when I brought it back a week later, the same employee was there where I’d left him, working the shop all on his own.
