Unreasonable Hospitality - the Guide makes all the difference. Just wanted to give a shout out to Vladimir (aka "Vlad the Great") as he made all the difference in our Paris Versailles Bike Tour on Thursday, July 2, 2025. This was an excursion part of our very first trip to Europe and this experience was recommended to us by some dear friends. We hopped on the idea immediately but I was nervous. I haven't ridden a bike in many, many years and not only that, there was a small portion of the tour that took us through streets with vehicle traffic. I'm a small person and so initially even getting the right size bike for me was hard (third time's the charm). One note I have about that is to possibly take people's height information and comfortability with bikes, etc. during intake to be prepared for this or to more easily match people with their correct sized bikes. That said, by the time I did receive the right bike (ended up being a children's bike with "Cool Kid" sticker on the handle bars-ha!), my anxiety level was very high and I almost gave up on the idea. Vlad was so very patient with me and took time to let me get comfortable in a safe area before we got started. His kindness and attentiveness was, in my opinion, an expression of "unreasonable hospitality." I'm sure the guides meet hundreds of people during a season, (I know I do as I'm a wine tour guide in Oregon) but we must always remember the difference we can make with one person. He will always be a shining star when we think back on the day. Not only was he kind, he was knowledgeable, passionate about history, attentive to where to give his "talks" so that the group could all be comfortable, brought an extra insulated bag that he carried for those of us who chose to purchase wine at the market for our picnic, patiently explained the RER train situation and was just an all around wonderful person. I later learned that he worked with and trained horses as well and that made so much sense. Anyone who can work with horses has the ability to understand and work with people well. Thank you, Vlad! What an amazing experience!! Our guide Ivan was fun and informative and made us feel safe and appreciated. We saw more of downtown San Diego in the 2.5-3 hours with Ivan than our whole trip combined! Worth every penny.

Great experience- was able to see so much more in a fun way. Guide Dave was wonderful and approachable, as were all the employees who went the extra mile for us when our online ticket did not work. Very highly recommend this company and this tour. We aren’t usually “tour people” but this was top notch. Kudos to this company. You’d be wrong to miss this.
