I hired an electric bike at Unlimited Biking on may 26, 2026. It was a great experience to drive around in Washington. First, because of the distances that are rather large in Washington. I went to Arlington and the Airforce Memorial and on the same afternoon to the White House, Watergate building, Vietnam memorial, Museumlane, the mall, the Capitol and Union Station. Those are huge distances, which you can't walk. Second: the streets of Washington are very suitable voor biking: very broad, sometimes with bikelanes and mostly rather calm with cars. The bikes themselves were great, and we ended up having a wonderful time out on them, but the customer service at the shop was disappointing. The local parking signs outside were very confusing, so I went inside to ask the employee where the best place to park would be. She rudely said, "You can park wherever you want." When I specifically asked about street parking, she just said, "If the signs say so." I enquired about the garage next to the shop, she said “yes, this building has an attached garage” basically not offering any help.. When you are operating in a heavy tourist area,I feel it’s important to make visitors feel welcome. It would help if employees understand that tourists do not know the local area or the specific parking rules. We parked on the street, only to find out two hours later that our parking had expired and the app wouldn't allow us to renew it. We had to cut our biking short to come back, move our vehicle, and put it in a parking garage instead. When someone is renting a bike for the entire day, letting them know about local parking limits or app restrictions is incredibly useful information to share and would help with the overall experience.

I rented a road bike and Alex was helpful with putting my pedals on the bike, along with adjusting the seat. However, when I asked to use the restroom, she told me "there wasn't one and you can go next door to the Navy Museum and use their restroom". When I returned the bike I saw a white man who was renting a bike come out of a door. As the door was closing I saw inside and it was a restroom. So, I assume the restroom is for whites only and not Black Americans. Wow! I was so disappointed. I will not be renting from Unlimited Biking again.

Bob is an amazing tour guide, born in NY and so he has to tell a lot of interesting, educational and entertaining stories and facts. There was even a bit of celebrity gossip thrown in😉 These relaxed 3.5 hours flew by. Additional Bob has many helpful advices and you don't have to worry about the photos—he takes care of that during the tour as well and makes them available free of charge. It was a wonderful conclusion to our trip to New York. Thank you so much, Bob!

He passed his knowledge of the US Capitol on to us during informative breaks at the various monuments we visited. Before we started off, Adrian told us he wanted our biking experience to be the highlight of our trip to Washington DC — and he delivered!!
