Wonderful tour! We not only ate small bites of delicious food throughout the tour, but our tour guide was wonderful at explaining historical sights as we walked by. This was our first food tour and we hope to do many more. Highly recommend!

We hired 3 bikes today planning to ride to Rockaway Beach and get the ferry back. We had Groupon vouchers and there was some issue with letting us have bikes as we had reserved by phone... definitely email your reservation so you have proof. Once over in Brooklyn the left crank arm on one of the bikes was loose and then fell off completely a few miles later. We called the bike hire company who advised us to take the bike to Roy's Sheepshead Cycle shop in Brighton Beach and that they would phone ahead to authorize any repair. We walked there...about 2 miles. No phonecall but the Roy's staff were super helpful and said that the crank had been trashed and retightened over many hired and was unrepairable and intact a safety issue. Certainly not caused by anything that we had done. They also identified several other issues with the bike including squint handlebars and low tyre pressure. We called the bike hire company again who refused to pair for the replacement and said we had to bring the bike back to their shop. How we asked? We suggested leaving the bike at Roy's and the staff member was angry, very rude and threatening. We ended up paying for the repair ourselves so we could continue our trip. On returning the bikes we very reasonably asked them to cover the cost of the repair ...twenty dollars. They refused and insisted that we had caused the damage. We asked to speak to the manager David Tranov who said that as it was one of his newer bikes basically " tough luck". Clearly doesn't give a toss about his clients safety or customer experience. We had paid for extra insurance but want this was for I have no idea I would think very carefully before using this bike hire shop. They say that their bikes are serviced every couple of weeks but my experience would suggest that this is not the case. Venture more than a mile from the hire shop and you are on your own. No assistance is available and expect a load of abuse.

Our 3rd Fat Tire Bike Tour - we'd previously taken tours with this excellent company in London and Paris. Our Barcelona tour was excellent. Our tour guide Ben didn't disappoint with his mix of jokes and factual information about the city and its history. Definitely recommended!

I did the Central Park tour as part of the New York explorer pass. The place is hectic and everything feels very rushed, the ladies at check in are very friendly but the $1.99 additional insurance they practically force on you (card only - no cash) is a rip-off. Why can't that be included? Our tour guide Damian was very nice and showed us around the park. He has great stories and gives it a nice personal touch. He was very helpful with other tips about sightseeing in New Yorkand seemed genuinely passionate about making sure you're having a good time. Overall I enjoyed the tour but the actual base is hectic and obviously just designed to get as many people through as possible.
