Disappointing, expensive experience
Unfortunately, this didn’t live up to our expectations. For starters, it was a private tour which we thought was a little odd and were expecting a bigger group of people. When we got to one location, they had sold out of donuts so we weren’t able to try any which was incredibly disappointing and we weren’t reimbursed for this. We did get to try another pastry, but we didn’t like it and so our guide finished it, which as you can imagine was quite odd. Our tour guide, Josh, made me feel uncomfortable and didn’t leave a lot of personal space. He kept walking in between me and my husband, and didn’t really acknowledge him at all. At the end of the tour, it was quite awkward as he asked for a review and tip when we were sat at our final location and didn’t leave so we felt pressured to leave a good review and tip. Luckily, the review didn’t work so this is a real review, rather than one that would have been inflated due to the proximity of the tour guide. Overall a disappointing, expensive experience.

Great tour with delicious donuts and history of Edinburgh's old town. Christina was a delightful guide with many anecdotes. We left with some delicious baked goods.

Bobbi is the Best!!
Bobbi was wonderful! Love her personality and all the gems she dropped throughout the tour. We had great weather and photos moments. I highly recommend this adventure as a great way to start your day and also find additional locations that you might want to dig deeper into.

We took the Detroit Donut Tour on July 2, 2025, and had a fantastic time exploring the city one delicious bite at a time. Our guide, Jason, made the experience even more memorable with his upbeat personality, deep local knowledge, and great storytelling. Yes, the donuts, eclairs, and chocolate were amazing — each stop offered something unique and flavorful, locally inspired options ranging from a Greektown staple to French-inspired pastries. What really stood out was how much we learned about Detroit along the way. Jason wove in fascinating facts about the city’s history, architecture, and revitalization efforts, giving us a fresh appreciation for the many options and opportunities to enjoy downtown Detroit. This tour is a perfect combination of snacking and insight. Highly recommended for visitors and locals alike who want to see the city through a fun and flavorful lens. We left with deeper connection to Detroit!
