I did two tours. The general walking tour is a great way to get orientated in the city. We had quite a large group so was a good crowd to meet other travellers to chat to. Our guide was Suzanna (forgive the spelling). She was great, really informative and funny, rather than the usual corny guide you can get on these kind of tours. Did a good job of keeping everyone together and getting us all involved. The general tour is pretty fast paced and energetic, but I went back to walk through the castle when the tour finished in the district. Tours are free, but well worth tipping your guide around €10 or 3500ft per person. I also did the ruin bar tour on a Saturday night which was brilliant. Just 4000ft for four hours of touring four bars with four shots and all entrance fees with no queuing. We had a great group of people from all over the world and we experienced a Hungarian rock show, a crazy cavernous club, and bars where we could sit around chatting and putting the world to rights. Our guide Yannos (spelling?) was hilarious. He knows everyone in all the bars from being a bartender and has all the insider knowledge. He even walked most of us home to our hotels along with his dog and hung out with us while we ate 300ft pizza slices at 1am. Thanks for a great night and would recommend to anyone!

Did 2 tours with them. The general city tour, our guide Zultan was really excellent. Great tour of the city despite the rain. Zultan brought to life the history of his city and culture with a wealth of personal information and a clear passion for his profession and a pride in sharing what he knows. As a result we joined him for his tour of the Jewish district later that day, and we were not disappointed. The same passion, knwledge and fantastic tips on things to do, where to eat and what to visit. Thanks Zultan!

I did two tours with Free Budapest Walking Tours and would recommend both! I did the street art tour with Barbi, which was so much fun! There were so many murals that I hadn't noticed walking around on my own, and it was fun to have them pointed out and learn a bit more about their meaning and about the regulations on street art in Budapest. I also did the communism tour with Agie, which was also excellent. I really enjoyed learning about how residents were affected by communism, and Agie did a great job making the information about every day people over statistics, etc. Thanks for two great tours!!

I’ve done three tours with this company now, the general tour, the communism one and the Jewish quarter tour. I particularly enjoyed the last two - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides, with a right combination of humour and information. Definitely do at least one of their tours while in Budapest, if not more!
