Our market tour and cooking class was the highlight of our trip to Palermo! Our guide/chef Marcello was very calm and patient, and explained the cooking process very well. The cannoli was my favourite part. The lunch we made was delicious, and now we can use our new skills when we return home! Grazie Marcello!

A good activity for families interested in learning the basics of pasta and gelato making
I would give this 4.5 Stars. This company is clearly well-organized and designed to hold a revolving door of classes. The hands on portion of the class was about half of the time, while the other half is watching demonstrations. The tables are already prepared with individual stations of pre-measured ingredients for making fresh pasta. This is more of a “watch what I do, then do it how I do it” type of class. They are quite specific on how you should handle the dough, and will let you know if you aren’t doing it “right”. A few children were brought up to participate in assisting with making the pesto and gelato, while the rest of the class watched. This is understandable because logistically it wouldn’t be possible for everyone to make their own pesto, and gelato must be made in a machine. There were very good explanations about how to make each aspect of the meal, and ultimately the food was very delicious and felt very authentic. I make fresh pasta at home at least once a week and I still learned quite a bit in this class. I would definitely recommend this class if you have children who are old enough to listen and follow directions (I wouldn’t recommend if your child has a short attention span). I think this is best for families looking to learn, help make, and enjoy authentic, high-quality pasta. I think the gelato is a bit of an afterthought. They use cornstarch as a thickener, which may be authentic, I don’t really know, but I definitely could taste it, whereas I never felt I tasted cornstarch in any of the gelato shops we frequented (daily). Overall, I’d likely do it again. It’s a good way to learn about cuisine, participate in the process, and enjoy a delicious meal.

Yo and Cecilia were great guides. They were patient with first time Vespa drivers and very safety oriented. Loved the stops we had and the lunch at the winery was superb. Enjoyed the olive oil and wine readings as well. Great experience

This experience was like being in a fairy tale. The Tuscan countryside is unreal, and by bike it is unbeatable. Our guide, Marco, was fantastic and we had the best time with him. Highly recommend.

Great environment. Instructor Thommaso was excellent. Very clear in helping us with each step. Provided really great learning on both the pizza and gelato making it enjoyable and informative. Very rewarding when you then eat the pizza that you made. I would highly recommend this activity. I was accompanied by my daughter who is 12 years old who also thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Fantastic tour – highly recommend! Really great experience with Towns of Italy! Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything easy to understand. The Colosseum was incredible to see up close, and the Roman Forum was full of amazing history. Loved how smooth everything was. If you're visiting Rome, this tour is totally worth it. Would 100% book again!
