I was really excited for this tour but, by our own error, only downloaded the app the day of. Still when we reached the station for our meeting point, we couldn’t find him and couldn’t reach anyone through either email or by the in app messages. I’m very let down

My spouse and I recently went on a private tour with Shumpei and had the BEST time! He took us to an area of Tokyo that my husband and I would have never thought to go on our own. He took us to a delicious authentic local lunch, shrines, temples, and the most gorgeous public garden. He even took pictures for us :) The best part is that you can immediately tell how passionate Shumpei is about his job and the service he provides to people taking his tour. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone and now feel like I have a friend of my very own in Tokyo. Thank you Shumpei! :)

It was my second time to use Tomogo and my expectations were exceeded. It’s quite a difficult task to shown hidden gems in such a well known place as Shibuya, but a personalized tour by super guide Fuma made it possible! Even if you need a guide just for a few hours to get more ideas for the rest of your trip or you want honest recommendations, Tomogo is a very good option for group or solo travelers!

Everything was exactly as listed. Definitely a highlight of my trip. I left from Fussa, so easy to get there on the JR Line or also from Tokyo. The building was beautiful old Edo Style building with a steep stairway to the upper floor that overlooks the bustling street activity below. Also, the chef is very familiar on where to get all the different types of fish at the Tokyo fish market. The class was very interesting and more than just making sushi, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the actual instruction was all hands on so I’m sure to remember it forever. A day well spent, and I would do it again next time I’m in Kawagoe just to eat the sushi!

La visite ( visite à pieds d’Osaka) a été payée mais n’a jamais eu lieu. Mon mari s’est trompé de date. Il avait réservé pour le 5 novembre au lieu du 6 novembre. I really enjoyed the tour to Kagurazaka! It had both a traditional touch as well as a modern feel; filled with unique shops and alleyways with hidden shops and cafes you wouldn’t normally find! My tour guide Amy was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and had great recommendations for food/drinks! Highly recommend!!

This was truly one of our favorite experiences in Tokyo! I joined Shumpei’s tour (Secret Tokyo) with three of my friends – they had all been to Japan before, but for me it was my first time. What made this activity unforgettable was not just what we saw, but the incredible reach of local knowledge and cultural understanding we gained. We walked through a neighborhood we never would have discovered on our own, visited small shops with local treats, and even got recommendations for things like the best second-hand shopping areas in Tokyo. Along the way, Shumpei explained how to pray at shrines, how amulets work, and even taught us a few Japanese words. But what stood out most was the conversation. These are the things you simply cannot Google, and having someone patiently explain them and compare with our own culture made it all so enlightening. We asked about restaurant habits – like whether you’re expected to slurp your noodles loudly – and so many other little customs we had been curious about but never knew how to ask. From food to traditions to daily etiquette, Shumpei answered every question with patience and insight. For the rest of the day we kept talking about everything we had learned, and it honestly gave us a deeper connection to Japan than we could have ever achieved on our own. 💙 Absolutely recommended – if you want to understand Japanese culture on a real, human level, this is the tour you need to book!

I really enjoyed the tour in Kichijoji and Gotokuji. It was nice to just walk around and explore without worrying about checking my map all the time. The area was relaxing and fun to see, but what made the tour special was our guide. She was so cheerful and energetic, with such a positive vibe, and because of that the 3 hours never felt long or boring. It felt more like spending time with a friend while discovering new places.

It felt more like exploring the city with a friend than a typical tour. 💛 Really recommend TOMOGO if you want an easy way to discover cool spots in Tokyo and learn a bit of history at the same time! ✨

Went on a tour for Kagurazaka, Jimbocho, and Yanesen by Nippori station. All were very local areas, highly recommend if you want to experience very local places with less tourism and crowds. Beautiful places with both history, cute shops and cafes, old book stores etc.
