We took an hour long boat tour today along the canals, with friends who were visiting Amsterdam for the first time. The boat was warm and comfortable and Sander was our captain. He asked various people (including us and others) to be less rowdy throughout the tour, in an intimidating way (when the noise levels were perfectly normal and civilized) and he was the only person who had an issue with it (no one else aboard was troubled). It felt very hostile and so unwelcoming, not what visitors to the city want to experience from the locals. And it left an awkward and unhappy feeling in everyone on the boat, and having used many other boat companies before, I would not use Stromma again. I’ve experienced welcoming, fun and laid back boat cruises in Amsterdam from other boat companies, making the experience for everyone so much more pleasurable. I really hope stromma can improve this for others, I suspect it was just unlucky with the captain, but hope that can change.

Had gezorgd voor een Nederlandse uitleg en mijn zoon had braaf geluisterd en zijn mond gehouden. Misschien dat de schipper zijn dag niet had, dat kan, maar hierdoor geen aanrader. Verder geen route langs de echte highlights van Amsterdam, desondanks mooie gebouwen gezien. Wij komen veel in Amsterdam, we wonen vlakbij dus prima zo. Voor toeristen raad ik een andere rederij aan met een mooiere route.

What a way to see Amstredam by the canals. Wonderful team. The route covers most must see with running commentary of the sites along the way. Book your ticmets in advance during peak times. Amsterdam light show not the best. Way too overhyped.
