I thought the guide was fanatic and so knowledgeable. The fact that you were provided with reindeer fur to sit on and blankets to wrap around you was greatly appreciated. Breaking the ice as you travelled through was great! The only things was if you had already walked around the neighbouring Skeppsholmen and Djurgarden, you didn’t see much that you haven’t already.

Going out on an ice breaking boat was an experience we were not really expecting but was the high point of the trip. Travelling on the boat through ice - watching and hearing it crack was awesome and exhilarating.

Classic canal tour cancelled due to ice

Unfortunately when we arrived at the boarding point, the canal trip was cancelled due to frozen waters. The operator offered to exchange my ticket for a hop on hop off bus tour instead. We really enjoyed the bus tour! It would have been handy to have received notification before the event to advise of the cancellation as it was a rush to get there for the departure time . I did not ask for a refund but on reflection, that would have been better as I later realised that the ticket that I’d purchased at the Metro already covered the bus service.

We enjoyed the boat trip so much! It was the highlight of our trip! The boat went through ice, which was a very cool experience! Cecilia was a great guide, and she gave lots of useful and interesting information! :)
