Had a great time with the family...the boat, although not new is well kept... Decent restrooms and friendly staff. Plenty of outdoor deck space as well as interior seating spots, which came in handy on a cold and windy day. Liked the pre recorded audio commentary as we cruised through the attraction areas : old factory, meuseum, golden gate bridge, Alcatraz, etc.. Nice history details played on the audio as well.

The boats are quite old and very loud, which made it hard to hear anything that was being said. On a positive note, the staff was friendly.
If you only do one thing in San Francisco, take this cruise. You will remember it for the rest of your life.
The experience is great! There is a bar, restrooms on board and gorgeous views of the bay along the ride! Keep your eyes peeled and your head on a swivel because you can see sea lions, dolphins and even whales on the ride! Of note, all ferry’s are priced the same if you are just paying outright for a one time ticket. However, If you have a “clipper card” , it’s about half the price if you take “the Golden Gate Ferry” instead of this one. If you are using public transit to travel around San Francisco even for just a weekend, It’s worth it to get the “Clipper card” app on your phone . If you’d prefer not to do that, Blue & Gold fleet is a fantastic option and just about $15 each way (they charge an extra dollar when using card instead of cash)! At any rate, Riding the ferry is a beautiful experience that I wouldn’t leave San Francisco without!

We were a party of 6 from different countries, Europe, South America, and the United States, all excited to enjoy what had been an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm was disrupted by the behavior of one Hispanic staff member working at the bar. While one of American family was simply reading the menu to choose a drink, this staff member at the bar rudely told him to move out of the line, even though the rest of us were still ordering. The situation escalated when he asked where we were from. When we said Peru, he responded with “that’s why,” as if our nationality explained something negative about us. His tone and attitude made it clear he was being dismissive and disrespectful, and in front of our relatives from Italy and people around. No guest should ever be made to feel diminished because of where they come from. We are proud of our heritage, and his comment was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. There are many people who would appreciate this job and treat customers with basic respect. This incident needs to be addressed so future guests can enjoy the wonderful experience without facing this kind of treatment. None of the less, the one hour tour was amazing. Take it!

Took the 2nd to last afternoon Bay Cruise. Great views and overall good cruise of the western bay. -2 stars for inattentive staff. We were told to park strollers on the bottom level near the front of the ship and then we went to go watch the scenery on the top decks. Mid-cruise, SO returned to the lower deck and caught 3 teenagers rummaging through our baby stroller...probably looking for valuables. They quickly shoved their hands in their pockets and walked off when they got caught. Absolutely no reason for them to be in the area with strollers. There was a staff member sitting in the front of the ship, few feet away with his head down using his phone, totally clueless. There are also no security cameras pointed at the area where staff said to park the stroller. Good thing no valuables were kept in the stroller...but haven't done a full inventory to see if anything was taken. It really ruined the vibe of the trip. -1 star for the pushy and predatory tourist picture sales practices.
