Really worth the time - one of the best tours
Our guide help put it all together - coca plant, cultural importance, how coca became cocaine in terms of Medicine, politics, and power. Plus he showed how narco $ impacted politics, modern history of Colombia, and its relationship to social justice, inequality, victims from the violence, and role of other countries including the USA as number 1 market. It really goes beyond entertainment and talking just about Escobar. We could ask all the questions we wanted to. I wish there was more presented on global numbers including people addicted to cocaine who are also victims. Our tour went from 10-1:30pm so eat before! Thanks to Real City for doing all the work to put together this tour .

We had a 100% great experience on the “Real City Tour – More Than Escobar Tour” with Pablo. As a local who grew up in Medellín (Envigado), he shares the city’s history in a deeply authentic and emotional way, weaving in his own experiences and personal impact. Pablo has an impressive knowledge of Medellín’s history and connects it thoughtfully with social, political, and even environmental aspects. He managed to explain a very heavy and complex topic in a balanced and sensitive way — without glorifying or condemning drugs, but instead focusing on the societal consequences, the victims of the cartels, and what this history has meant for Colombia. The tour stops were very well chosen, and the calm surroundings made it easy to fully follow and absorb the stories. Pablo spoke clearly and with great presence. His personal involvement and his mission to challenge and broaden the Western view of Colombia were strongly felt and truly left a lasting impression. Highly recommended.

Great Tour, Love German!
German was amazing! He was so knowledgeable about Medellin and has the best energy. The Tour was paced very well, even with an older family member, he made sure to make accommodations for us.

Responsible Tourism at its Best
Dio was a FANTASTIC guide for the free city walking tour. I've been on many city tours across the world, and his was the best, hands down. I even came back for more - I've been on the same tour with Dio twice :) One of the best possible ways for you to gain context for Medellin. Dio is a gem and you will not be disappointed! I also went on the More than Escobar tour, guided by Pablo. The storytelling, sequencing, and breakdown of a complex topic blew me away. This tour, among others by Real City Tours, are a responsible traveler's dream. Pablo was a generous, informative, passionate host and effectively called guests into the context of Medellin. Goosebumps tour
One of the best (if not the best) walking tours we did in our life (and most of the time we do at least one whenever we travel). Thank you Julio, you were incredible, the structure, the way how you explained, the stories you brought with you from your personal experience, just WOW. The tour ended up being smtn we never imagined and shocked us in the most positive way and definitely left smtn we will carry with us. I would def recommend this to everyone, actually do not even visit Medellín if u not gonna take this tour. 11/10 experience, this is money well spent.

Excellent tour filled with interaction and so much detailed information that explained the experience in Colombia during the Escobar times. The victim memorial site pulls your heart strings. It was a very moving and incredibly interesting experience. This is a must do in Medellin. The tour is free. It’s only based on donations. For me the tour had a very good length (about 3h) to follow the explanations. It is perfectly fit to attend with friends or family. All in all I would definitely recommend and even do again.

If you need to do one tour, pick this
Such a moving tour. I definitely think they should charge a fix price since it’s sooo worth it. Tastefully done, doesn’t glorify one man that almost destroyed a nation. Milo was patient, passionate and you could really feel the impact of what has happened to the community. Really made us appreciate the tenacity and resilience of the Colombian people. Highly recommend this tour.

Super nice tour, very sweet and tourguide. I was not expecting much but i really liked it. Good historic information but also the guide’s personal experiences of living in medellin when it was the most dangerous. Super nice and would really recommend this. It is also not safe to visit the center without guide. ( we didnt know before)
