A tour that does justice to the reality instead of over-hyped Escobar
Since I have been in Colombia I have tried to understand the conflict and its consequences. I started reading books about it, watched documentaries and talked to people. Now, after only spending a couple of hours with Julio, the pieces finally fell together. The groups are small so there is all the room to ask questions and to start the conversation about what has happened and is still happening. By changing the narrative from over-hyped Pablo Escobar to the victims, it feels like this tour does way more justice to the reality. Julio has been a professor at the University before and is a master in storytelling. He managed to explain everything very clear and in the same time kept it very interactive. Also personal anecdotes included. Thank you so much for making me understand finally the situation a bit better!

He has a natural and professional style that is complemented by a wonderful sense of humor. I have been on many walking tours across the globe, and he stands out as one of the best. It is the first tour I have been on, where a guide set aside time for the group to sit and ask questions and the first time a guide has used a microphone for all to hear. Hernán was AMAZING!! I do walking tours in every city I’m in (probably have done 50+) and Hernán was one of the best! Very knowledgeable. Had a clear and concise timeline/information he wanted to go over. Could answer all questions. Highly recommend any tour in which he’s the guide!
