VERY disappointed with this company and the helicopter tour we took with them. Their disorganization ruined the whole tour for us. This was our first visit to the Grand Canyon and friends had advised us to do a helicopter tour. We originally purchased a helicopter tour online through the Papillon site. The day before our scheduled tour we received an email informing us that our tour was canceled. No reason for the cancelation, just that it was canceled. At this point, we are already in Vegas so we decided to stop at one of the tour vendors on the strip. The person working the booth said that tour companies sometimes do that because the online price is too low or wasn't updated. He made a call and got us booked on a tour through Grand Canyon Express that included a tour of the Grand Canyon West, a helicopter ride to the bottom and a pontoon boat ride on the Colorado River. The bus driver and bus ride to the canyon were fine. Our driver was very friendly and informative. When we got to the Grand Canyon we found out that the helicopter tour company taking us to the bottom of the canyon is actually Papillon. But ok, we paid for this thing already and we are there, so we get on the copter. We were the second group of people to go down to the bottom that morning. The canyon is spectacular, we get to the bottom and get on a boat, also spectacular. The boat gets back to the helicopter pick up and no helicopter. We then spent 2 hours waiting for a copter to come back and get us. Other groups who had arrived after us are now returning to the copter pick up site and everyone starts complaining. The staff are trying to manage the complaints while also trying to contact the folks up top to find out what's going on. By the time we got back up top it was time to get back on the bus. We didn't get to tour the village, see the glass bridge, see the canyon from up top, eat lunch, buy a souvenir. Nothing. All we got from the Papillon staff was an apology. It was a sad end to what should have been a magical experience. I plan to visit the Grand Canyon again but I will be sure to stay far from any tours operated by Papillon.

Cannot recommend this company. They cancelled our booked tour 15 min before pick-up time. (We also confirmed the tour by phone 2 days before, as mentioned on the ticket pdf. There it was still clear, that the tour will be.) As reason they said, it's due to weather. But other companies did their flights; weather didn't seem to be that bad. We were very lucky and were able to book a flight in the afternoon of the same day with 5-Star. The man of the tourist info told us, that Papillon is known as unrealiable and for cancelling tours. People should better book with Maverick or 5-Star. But at least the refund by Papillon worked well+promptly (maybe also because of Paypal).

Alles ist bis zum Schluss völlig intransparent bezüglich tatsächlicher Flugdauer, Preis und Sitzplatz. Und mit der Sonnenspiegelung im Heli kann man keinen guten Fotos machen. Nicht zu empfehlen!!! Absolutely amazing. Even if I did sit backwards squashed with interlocking knees with the stranger sitting opposite. 10/10 would do it again !
