E’stato un bel pomeriggio, anche se avremmo preferito il tour in francese, comunque Lena è stata disponibile e traduceva dall’inglese per noi italiani in francese, tour molto interessante nella gabarre. Grazie mille 😉

Good - But Not A Great - Day

We went on a hot day and the Parc Nationale de Calanques was closed due to fire risk - no fault of the tour, of course. This gave us more time in Cassis and at the vineyard. The village of Cassis was far beyond what I expected and we’ve traveled extensively in France. The boat tour of the calanques is the best part of the day - you’ll love it. We then had lunch at a restaurant right on the dock and the view, food, and drinks were all wonderful. Next, because of the extra time available (due to the national park being closed), we had a lot of time to visit all the shops and boutiques in town - certainly that was an amazing experience. Finally, the vineyard tour/tasting was pretty “meh” and comparable to many others - again, not the fault of the tour but the French woman doing the presentation seemed somewhat disengaged and appeared more or less to be going through the motions. The downside (besides the park being closed) was our tour guide didn’t speak French (I do) and she mangled the translations somewhat. Also, her guided tour of the town was a bit wonky with some uninteresting stops for everyone along the way. Finally, she was a little too critical of the French and life in general and I generally pay tour guides to entertain and inform me, not to provide their criticism of anything to me. Overall, a solid B+/A- experience and I recommend it but the difference between a 4-star day (this is probably the worst that you can expect) and a 5-star day will the be presentation skills, knowledge, and positive attitude of your tour guide.

Dulce was fantastic. We would definitely do this again. Yes, you could go by train but this provides a guide, recommendations, and so much enjoyment. It is worth every dime.

We had a fabulous time on this day trip. Lucas was a wonderful guide, charming, funny , knowledgeable and engaging, it was clear he wanted everyone to have the best time possible and he succeeded ! Finishing the day with the relaxing wine tasting was the perfect way to end a perfect day. Both contrasting vineyards were excellent and very informative. We would definitely recommend this trip to others. The only thing that could improve the tour would be little snacks eg cheese and pretzels etc

Wonderful trip to Dordogne River

Lena was an outstanding guide on our half-day tour of the Dordogne villages. Her deep local knowledge and ability to bring the region’s history and everyday life to life made the tour both informative and genuinely engaging. What stood out most was her emotional intelligence: she sensed the group’s energy and interests, adapted the pace and content accordingly, and made everyone feel included and at ease. She handled questions thoughtfully and created a warm, relaxed atmosphere while still keeping the logistics running smoothly, which speaks to her professionalism. As a native French speaker, her command of English is excellent—clear, precise, and nuanced enough to explain complex historical and cultural points without ever losing us. Thanks to Lena, the tour was not just a visit to beautiful villages, but a meaningful and memorable experience. I would highly recommend her to any English-speaking visitors to the Dordogne.

Excellent guide but could have done with more time in Carcassonne

Sonya was a brilliant guide - knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The journey to and from Carcassonne was very comfortable. We had just under 2 hours in Carcassonne so there wasn't time to do much after the guided part of the visit (eg walk on the ramparts) Another hour in Carcassonne would have made the trip better value.

We cannot say enough nice thing about this tour and Matt! Matt was knowledgeable, personable, engaging and organized. To keep two history buffs engaged for 8 hours is not easy, but Matt did an absolutely wonderful job. This tour was with every penny and then some. Thank you, Matt, for making our trip to Normandy so meaningful. And Go Bears!

Easy enough to book, our original.time.of 9am was cancelled due to unforseen circumstances but they accomodated us on the trip at 2pm instead- Lena our guide was amazing, very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The trip itself amazing if your staying in Sarlat its a really good way to break up your stay and visit the other villages, the viallges are a WOW factor.and a must see

Beautiful Countryside, Pricey Experience

The vineyards and Chateaus are a site to behold and the town of Saint-E’Milion was a wonderful place to explore and eat. I would stay longer in that town. I feel the trip is pricey especially without lunch included. The experiences at the vineyards were a bit repetitive. One explanation of the wine process is enough. The tour guide was friendly and informative.
