D Day Omaha Beach Tour
We booked the Omaha Tour for 20th Sept 2025. Pascal our guide from the company Ophorus was outstanding. His knowledge is excellent and passes this on in a very interesting and friendly manner with some humour thrown in.. We were a family of four from the UK. It was a pleasure to meet Pascal and recommend this tour to anyone thinking of doing this tour. Stephen, Lynne, Bobby and Debs.

Our Introduction to the Left Bank
This was our introduction to the left bank. We were on the Oceania Marina and docked in Bordeaux for two days . We spent the first day touring the right bank and Saint Emilion. On day two we booked a private half day tour to the Medoc region allowing ourselves a half day in the town of Bordeaux itself. Coincidentally, we ended up with the exact same tour guide both days. The tours were provided by Ophorus and our guide Helene was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We were running a bit ahead of schedule to our first tasting so our guide took us by the famous Chateau Margaux and we all got out of the van and had our photo taken with the chateau in the background. Our first winery we visited was Chateau Marquis de Terme, home to one of Margaux’s Grand Cru Classe. Our second stop was at Chateau Haut Breton Larigaudiere. We found both wineries to be better than the ones we visited on the right bank the day before and ended placing orders to have wine shipped back home to the states. The “small group” tour for this day was sold out so we booked a “private” tour. I wonder if the “private” tours get you access to more exclusive and better wineries? We are experienced wine lovers and have toured over 100 wineries mostly in Napa, Sonoma and Tuscany. This was our first time in Bordeaux. While we did not find the region to have the beauty of California or Italy, nonetheless it was an important step in our wine journey learning about one of the greatest wine regions in the world. We would not hesitate to use Ophorus again. Thanks to our guide Helene for a fantastic day!

Fun half day
Nice small group tour (8 people), comfortable minivan and not too long travelling. First stop was really interesting, a good vineyard with a great tour and good wine. Second vineyard was just a tasting but it was really good and we sat outside in a garden area.

Champagne tour from Paris
Nicholas gave an interesting and delightful day journey from Paris to the champagne countryside. The van was clean and comfortable. He stopped for restroom breaks as needed. We toured the cathedral in Reims for sufficient time and visited two wineries, a small and a large one. He stopped for lunch, on our own. We had four couples. He was extremely kind to drop each of us near our final destinations as we were all close by. Highly recommend.

Enchanting Medieval Perigord
Guide Lena drove us around the medieval Dordogne villages ... very knowledgeable and informative ... felt very comfortable even as a solo traveller in the group...river cruise was a lovely aspect of the tour ... good local dining recommendations as well.

Wonderful Tour!
My husband and I and another couple signed up for this tour. We could have driven to each of these places ourselves but would not have gotten the information we received. Our driver was fantastic; he was funny and was very knowledgeable about all the sites which he told us about as he was driving. And he had great stories to tell. It was worth every penny we paid!

Beautiful day in Cassis!
The perfect day in Cassis! Beautiful scenery (boat ride to see les Calanques) The town of Cassis is nice, restaurants are various and, in general, very good. A stop at the wineyard “Domaine de Pagnol” for nice wine tasting. Our guide ( Julien) was knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. I recommend.

Our Introduction to the Right Bank
This was our introduction to the right bank. Our guide Helene was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Before ever leaving the town of Bordeaux she pulled out a map and explained the different terroirs of Bordeaux and soil types. Our morning consisted of a visit to Chateau Ferrand and Chateau Bellevue. The afternoon included a visit to Chateau Cardinal. We had about two hours in Saint Emilion which was the highlight of the day. We had a wonderful lunch at Table 38 which we had researched online prior to our trip. Helene gave us a nice walking tour of the town after lunch. We have visited close to 100 wineries mostly in Napa, Sonoma and Tuscany. Surprisingly, we did not find Bordeaux to have the beauty of those areas. I also did not think the tours or overall tasting experience leveled that of the California wineries. Nonetheless, this was an important step in our wine journey to learn about one of the greatest wine regions in the world. We would not hesitate to use Ophorus again. Thanks Helene for a fantastic day!

Saint Emillion Wine Tour
Our guide, Luigi, was fantastic! Very informative and engaging. My only negative is that we should’ve spent more time in the town of Saint Emilion. There was too much of explanation the wine making process. More than was necessary. Especially if you were to visit more than one winery. The technique is about the same at every winery.

It was a small group of 8 people with a very knowledgeable guide. The castles were fantastic and we had some free time at each stop to do some exploring on our own. Just perfect!

Our Tour guide Amelie was fantastic. Loved going through Albi and learning everything about to city. Her knowledge on the history is outstanding even when we asked about the 100 year war she didn’t hesitate to educate us. Keep it up!

Saint Emilion Wine Tour and Tasting with Guy
We had Guy as our guide and it was a fantastic revisit not only to the wine history but the history of the region as we drive to Saint Emilion. It was a beautiful vineyard with great tasting facilities and the tour of the cave was a lovely escape from the heat. Amazing day learning something new and tasting wine !

We traveled in a comfortable van, in a small group with a very kind, professional guide. We thought about doing this trip using ride shares or public transportation but are so glad that we did this tour instead. We honestly couldn’t have fit it all in, and we learned so much more from our guide, Alan. This is a wonderful way to have a personal and informative tour of Alsace.
