Half Day Tour St. Emilion

Our tour was absolutely great, largely thanks to our super guide, Anne, who was incredibly chatty, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable. However, the experience left us wishing for more time, as the four-hour duration felt rather rushed to fit everything in. While spending an entire day in St. Emilion would probably be too much, four hours is simply not enough time to comfortably experience two wine tastings, walk around the beautiful village, and actually sit down to relax. A six-hour tour would truly be the perfect sweet spot for this itinerary. If you don't have much time and want an AC van with a small group this is the tour for you.

Dulce was fantastic. We would definitely do this again. Yes, you could go by train but this provides a guide, recommendations, and so much enjoyment. It is worth every dime.

Good - But Not A Great - Day

We went on a hot day and the Parc Nationale de Calanques was closed due to fire risk - no fault of the tour, of course. This gave us more time in Cassis and at the vineyard. The village of Cassis was far beyond what I expected and we’ve traveled extensively in France. The boat tour of the calanques is the best part of the day - you’ll love it. We then had lunch at a restaurant right on the dock and the view, food, and drinks were all wonderful. Next, because of the extra time available (due to the national park being closed), we had a lot of time to visit all the shops and boutiques in town - certainly that was an amazing experience. Finally, the vineyard tour/tasting was pretty “meh” and comparable to many others - again, not the fault of the tour but the French woman doing the presentation seemed somewhat disengaged and appeared more or less to be going through the motions. The downside (besides the park being closed) was our tour guide didn’t speak French (I do) and she mangled the translations somewhat. Also, her guided tour of the town was a bit wonky with some uninteresting stops for everyone along the way. Finally, she was a little too critical of the French and life in general and I generally pay tour guides to entertain and inform me, not to provide their criticism of anything to me. Overall, a solid B+/A- experience and I recommend it but the difference between a 4-star day (this is probably the worst that you can expect) and a 5-star day will the be presentation skills, knowledge, and positive attitude of your tour guide.

Sarinya our transfer driver was on time, he personally met us inside the lobby of our hotel. He was very proper, professional, & great personality ❤️Sonya our tour guide was the best. Her personality & professionalism went above and beyond. She accommodated our request in this unforgettable visit to Our Lady of Lourdes. Daniel with Ophorus was very professional attentive to my online request and would reply my messages within minutes. Thank you Ophorus for making this tour fantastic, memorable and allowed us to take precious memories home to share with family ❤️❤️❤️

Finishing the day with the relaxing wine tasting was the perfect way to end a perfect day. We did a 4 hour wine tour Cotes de Nuits with Valentin. It was a fabulous few hours. We thoroughly enjoyed the vineyards and beautiful rural area, stopping to view vineyards between visiting 2 wineries for tastings. Valentin our guide was terrific: knowledgeable with a lovely mix of being professional, friendly and courteous. The different cellar experiences complemented each other and the winery people serving the tastings were lovely, especially the woman at La Grande Cave de Vougeot where we went down into an underground cellar. The vehicle was very comfortable. A wonderful experience. We recommend this and Valentin most highly.
