A Half-Day Wine Tour with Depth, Character, and Exceptional Pinot Noir.

We searched several wine tasting tours, and most were full-day commitments. This one stood out as a half-day experience—perfect for our schedule. We visited two beautiful estates in the heart of Burgundy, both producing exceptional Pinot Noir, including Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines. Our guide, Valentin, made the experience even more memorable. He’s not only a knowledgeable wine guide but also an archaeologist, which brought a unique depth to the tour. At Philippe Leclerc and Domaine Quivy, we learned about the history, culture, and art of winemaking in a way that felt both personal and insightful. Valentin’s storytelling, local knowledge, and passion for the region made the tour feel authentic and engaging. Highly recommended if you’re short on time but still want a rich and immersive Burgundy wine experience.

Very good tour.

This was a very good tour, lasting 4 hours and passing through some beautiful Alsatian villages with stops at two villages for a walk and closer inspection. We also headed up into the hills to see vineyards close up and for a panoramic view across the countryside towards the Rhine, with extensive vineyards climbing the hillsides and spreading along the spaces between villages on the valley floor - all very beautiful! Our guide was excellent and we thought the price very reasonable.

Wonderful Wine Tasting in Alsace

Jerome Valladier did an excellent job explaining the culture and history of the region. We really enjoyed the 2 wineries we visited - Noelle Bachert and Albert Seltz. The tastings were wonderful. We especially loved the cheese pairing at Noelle Bachert. Jerome also did a quick tour through Strasbourg before dropping us off at the ship.

A Great Afternoon!

Everything about the Half-Day Wine-Tasting tour was 5 star. Our tour guide, Laurence J., was both entertaining and informative (and an excellent driver). The itinerary included scenic stops as well as visits to two excellent wineries. This was a relaxing, educational and fun afternoon. High marks for Ophorus and Laurence J!

Outstanding Tour and Guide

This Tour was outstanding. We saw so much more by taking this tour than we could have accomplished on our own. The villages were beautiful and the castle was very interesting. Our tour guide Myriam was knowledgeable about the castle and the villages. She made our day enjoyable and we feel lucky to have had her as our guide.

Don’t expect a comprehensive excursion

Long 60 minutes drive out of Bordeaux in a 8 passenger “tight” van. Three people in front seat with extremely small legroom space for center passenger. Visited one vineyard with no exposure to owners or any connection to employees who would have made it a little special. 4 wines poured and our guide tried her best to discuss. Almost boring. Then we were parked and dropped off at the top of the town of St Emillion for an hour. The guide offered some help but nothing really shined. We then drove 90 minutes back to town. The trip was not a good value and almost a waste of time.

An enjoyable day

Great way to see sites without renting a car. Our driver and guide Adam was very knowledgeable about the architecture and history of the sites. A very enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend.

Great tour!

Our tour guide Charline was amazing, very knowledge le about the chateaus and gave incredible insight. She pointed out the best photo spots gave us plenty of time to explore on our own. The chateaus are marvelous!
