John is one of the best tour guides that we’ve ever had! He knows so much about this topic and you can tell he loves to give this tour — it wouldn’t have been the same without him! This is an ambitious itinerary, but felt perfect for a day trip. We saw Utah Beach and Museum (~75 minutes), Pointe Du Hoc (~30 minutes), ate a great lunch, Omaha Beach (~20 minutes), and visited the American Cemetery (~45 minutes) where we witnessed the lowering of the flags. We also got a ton of history about D-Day, Paris, and Normandy from John on the bus. This is a 3-4 hour drive from Paris, but the ride was comfortable. As John said, this itinerary fits 2 days of activities into 1. Despite some stops being shorter, we didn’t feel like we missed out on much. We ate lunch at a local restaurant and had a few options for everyone. Service and food were great! Would recommend this tour to anyone looking to spend a day at D-Day sites while in Paris. Could be a 2-day trip for those with more time.

Elly was an excellent guide!! Lots of fun, lots of knowledge and best, she remembered everyone’s name! also, gave great recommendations for shopping, eating, local foods to try. 5 Stars for Elly!

Visite guidée bien documentée . La guide carletta était excellente dans ses commentaires et recommandations. Visites intéressantes . Bon rythme . Une seule déception - nous pensions être une 20aine et nous étions 60. Pas la même expérience donc .

Didn’t start well. We got on the wrong train (not your fault) but still arrived at meeting point before 8.25am. The bus was still there. A lady come over to where we were standing, spoke to one lady (there were only 5 of us standing there) and then got back on bus. She never called out any names or asked anyone else if they were waiting. We didn’t know that was our bus until after it left. We paid an uber 50€ to take us to Versailles (on the recommendation of the tour guide from the 9am group). When we got there I found the same lady that had gotten off the bus and asked her if she was a tour guide. She said no. My next question was going to be “are you missing someone from your group?” But she just said no and walked away. We are sure this was our group. We then waited until 2.30pm hoping to find the group, which we did. The tour guide changed to go to Giverny. We enjoyed Monet’s Garden & House. And Giverny was a gorgeous little village.

Great trip. Sam was our guide and has a great knowledge of WWII history. Only wish the trip to the American cemetery could have been longer. We had the fish and fries for lunch which was just so-so. Other than that, great educational trip!
