My husband and I did the half-day Jeep tour followed by the one-way train ride from Silverton to Durango, and it was such a great experience. Our guide, Cat, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the local area and had so much interesting information to share along the way. The scenery was absolutely amazing. I do want to share one helpful tip for anyone booking this tour—not as a negative toward Mild to Wild or Cat at all, but just so you are better prepared than I was. I am sure their description of the tour explained what to expect and what I would need, but I missed it. You ride in the back of an open-air Jeep/truck on benches, so it can be windy, dusty, and a little chilly. I have a lot of curly hair and definitely wish I had packed a scrunchie! Luckily I didn't forget a jacket, but my husband needed one and was able to purchase one in Silverton before heading out. Cat provided blankets for us, which was really helpful. To have the best experience, just come prepared for the open-air ride. And maybe don’t lose your glasses halfway through like I did! Cat was amazing—she found them in the shuttle van and even came to find us at the restaurant to return them. Mild to Wild is definitely a company that hires people who go above and beyond. We had a wonderful day and would absolutely recommend this tour.

Jared Avery was a terrific tour guide. He was so kind, patient, fun with my children (ages nine and 14), intelligent, informative, and an all-around cool hang. He was also an excellent, safe driver. We were taken on a wonderful and exciting scenic tour of the San Juan Mountains area, culminating in a visit to Velocity Peak. We traveled through stunning beauty and got to see numerous sites of historical and natural interest, including Silverton, the train/railroad there and the Old Hundred mine.

We had the most amazing trip with Sammy K at mild AND wild. She was by far the best river guide we have ever had. She was extremely professional and fun at the same time. She pointed out every type of zimphamy there was and She interacted with all the rafters and was very fun. We had a bit of an incident at the end of our trip and Sammy K was so locked in and calmly assisted in taking control the group and getting everyone to safely. I’m serious, “This girl is on Fire” 😂 We will definitely come back and request her as our guide as well as refer everyone we know to her. Thank you Sammy K for an amazing experience. PS: she lies a little…. There is no heater in the river, don’t listen to her.

Zach was an awesome guide on our half day trip. He shared interesting facts about the area, was incredibly patient with my 8 and 10 year old children, had a great sense of humor and made our trip a ton of fun. We would definitely recommend taking the time to raft with Mild to Wild if you’re in the area and ready for a break from hiking!

Minimal Risk Rafting/Spectacular Views.

Great guides...friendly, knowledgeable, thorough with all the necessary safety measures. Absolutely SPECTACULAR scenery along the way. The half day, morning was perfect, as Utah can get quite toasty in the afternoon.

Scenic and peaceful river

The river was beautiful and peaceful Water level not too high because of unusually low snowfall this winter so not much whitewater But, again, a really cool adventure for my kids and for beginner rafters

We did the half day rafting trip and even though the river is a little low and slow, we had a great time!! Cory was our guide and she made it really fun and interesting by pointing out all kinds of points of interest. We saw an eagles nest with the mom and fledgling in it and heard stories about the history of the area. We were accompanied by Irving, another guide, and Eli, a guide in training. They were all hilarious and sweet and helped to make our day.

Cory, Irving and Eli were professional, knowledgeable and fun. The river was a little slower than we would have liked but still a very enjoyable ride.

We had the most amazing trip with family and friends down the Animas River with Mild to Wild yesterday! The name lived up to its hype, as the calm parts at the start were mild and the rapids were wild. The initial safety demonstration by Alex was thorough and also entertaining. He covered all bases. Our guide, Peyton, was phenomenal! He blended a fun river rapid adventure with historical anecdotes, personal conversation, all tethered to ensure we have a safe experience! We couldn't have asked for a better time or a more equipped staff and company. Our tour was a half-day tour, which was much more thorough than we had even expected. We will definitely be doing this again and highly recommend Mild to Wild to anyone who is interested in a whitewater rafting excursion.

We just returned from the most amazing four day river rafting trip down Cataract Canyon with Mild to Wild. It was incredible. Our guides (Lauren, Ben, Jeff, Jackson and Luis) were outstanding. From river rafting skills, to cooking delicious meals and knowing the local area, they made the whole trip enjoyable. We will be back. :)

We had an amazing time rafting Cataract Canyon! 4days, 3 nights, 30 rapids and the best guides you could ask for! Jeff, Ben, Luis, Jackson and mighty Lauren were great and the food excellent! Can’t wait to do it again!

We had an amazing tour with Cat to the Mesa Verde National Park. She was full of interesting history and knowledge of plants in the area. You could tell she loves her job and strives to take care of her customers. This was the most fantastic tour I have ever taken.

Great, awesome experience on the Animas for us both experienced kayakers(first time duckie for me). Noah was a great guide-very friendly, safety conscious, fun and adventure advisor-ask for him!!!👍👍👍

We only had one afternoon we could devote to Mesa Verde so decided to do an organized tour. We are so glad we did. Tim, our tour guide, was informative and super nice. He was able to take us to the key places in the park and point out things along the way. His knowledge made our visit so much better than if we’d done it on our own. Plus he was just a fun person to spend the afternoon with. We’d definitely recommend Mild and Wild and will use them again for any tour or rafting trip in SW Colorado we plan on the future.
