We went for a 3/4 day trip along the Animas river, and it was fantastic. The guide, Jon Harley, was personable and absolutely hilarious. Also, he brought donuts since it was his birthday. Can't go wrong with that. Jon was skilled at both keeping the raft moving and directing us as well as keeping us entertained on the non-rapids sections of the river. Our 3/4 day seemed to me to only last a couple hours (because I was having so much fun, not because they shorted us on time), but it was a blast. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the rafting had parts that were challenging, but not too much. Would recommend, would go again.

My name is Eva and I am 11 years old. Me and my grandparents went on a raft trip and Lee was our guide. He was very nice and really fun. He even showed us how to surf a wave because I am from California and like to surf. My grandparents really liked Lee too.

I went rafting with my family which included a 6 and 8 year old. Honestly, I was a little apprehensive to take my small children but am glad I did in hindsight. We all had a lot of fun and immensely enjoyed our time on the Animas River. There was one point on the trip that had class 3 rapids. Prior to entering the rapids, we came ashore to let the children off. The guides escort the kids around the bend as the adults get to enjoy the short stretch of rapids. The kids are in sight the entire time alleviating any concerns. Once through the rapids, the rafts go ashore again and the children are reunited with the groups. The tour guides were professional, fun and quite sociable. Our guide did an exceptional job of explaining the ins and outs of maneuvering the raft on the water rapids. During calms on the river we played water games with the other rafters and had a chance to enjoy a quick dip in the cold river at one point. When ordering tickets we were offered extras such as wetsuits and shoes. We went in late June when the sun was quite hot and were glad we did not use the wetsuit. My feet were burned and sore from the foot support in the raft. I would recommend a covered wetshoe or taking the shoe rental. Exposure is intense on the water, wear waterproof sunscreen. Drinking water is not provided on the ride but is available during a short snack break. Photos are taken of your raft in action. There are options to purchase photos after the tour if desired.

Jeep tour with Doug around Silverton was a lot if fun and very informative. He was a great tour guide. The train ride was beautiful but after the first hour long and to be honest a little boring. Also did the Lower Animas Rafting for a day trip. It was a lot of fun - great trip for first time rafters like us. Loved our guide Grace. It was incredible to watch her thread us through the rocks. Hope to see her again on the Salt.

I went rafting with Mild to Wild on my birthday with my family and my friends and we had a blast! Most of us were experienced rafters and so our guide Don let us do a lot of play surfing in the rapids and he made sure the trip was fun and interesting, plus I even got a birthday swim! Professional company with great guides!

Best whiteH2O rafting outfit in Durango! Guide Phil aka Stone Cold is a great guide and river raft pilot. Hit all the white rapids and certainly got wet!

We went to Mild to Wild in Durango, CO. My mom and I traveled there with 3 teenagers. We choose to do the rafting on the longer trip. Our guide Aaron, was a lot of fun and was patient and kind to the kids. He made a fun experience even more fun. We went through the rapids without a hitch. The kids had fun with the water squirters, creating fun between the other rafts with kids and kids at heart in them. We all had a great time. One of the best experiences and memories were created. Thank you Aaron and Mild to Wild! We look forward to meeting you again!

17 people waited for a bus that was late, not much but come on folks, eighty bucks each the bus ought to be there, we were. Thought we were getting a "jeep" tour but rode in the back of pickup trucks on gravel roads crowded with ATVs, lots of dust, but no adventure. Just about any SUV could have made the trip. Nice people, tried their best. Incredible scenery.

I recently took a group of 10 Girl Scout on the two day San Miguel rafting trip. I’ll admit I was a little nervous before hand because I knew we would be camping out with the company. But after 10 min with the River Guides we would have I knew my girls were in great hands. The guides were so wonderful with each and every kiddo we brought with us. They made sure everyone was having fun, and staying safe. We were well taken care of at each meal we shared with the company, and had a great time playing games around the campfire on the night we camped out. There wasn’t one moment during the whole trip we would change. This company is AMAZING! We will be using them for many, many years to come. In fact we’re using them again for two other trips this year!
