This was a great tour. Everything from finding the guide before the train to meeting the new guide in Versailles. Both were very knowledgeable and entertaining. We loved having the ear piece so we could hear everything being said.

Too crowded
The palace was overcrowded and little time to study the paintings and contents. Very rushed. Could not go back into palace. Did not see many of the rooms. The gardens were magnificent and plenty of information and time the rest of the day

Unser Guide war super lieb, allerdings war die Tour ziemlich kurz. Eine halbe Stunde geht für den Eintritt drauf und dann gabs noch eine Pinkelpause und als es endlich los ging, hatten wir noch eine Stunde. Wir haben uns lediglich 5 Kunstwerke angeguckt und ich hätte irgendwie mehr Insider Wissen erwartet und mir bei dem Preis auch gewünscht.

Best part was skip the line
Unfortunately the guide was late to the meeting point and it was 20 minutes before our first painting. To make up time we spent little time at other paintings.

Royal Routine in a Royal Palace
Our guide Ivan handled a difficult situation brilliantly. We had timed entry tickets for 10:10, but the staff at Versailles held a union assembly that morning that delayed the opening from 9:00 to 10:30. Ivan walked us to the little market square in the town, then went back to the palace to try to resolve the situation. We finally gained admittance to the chateau at 11:30. Ivan's retelling of the history of Versailles, the way everything pointed to the power and glory of the king, and the daily routine of the royal way of life was fascinating. This was especially true when we reached the queen's bed chamber and learned about how Marie Antoinette had tried to save the king and her children. We thoroughly enjoyed the palace and the gardens were delightful on a warm and sunny day. Ivan is a skilled, informative, and humorous guide to the palace of Versailles.
