We are so happy we decided to go with Friendly Charters for our snorkeling adventure. Everyone on the crew was so helpful and nice, we cant say enough good things about them. The atmosphere was laid back and a bit more private since there were only 38 of us on board. The weather wasn't cooperating so unfortunately we didn't get to go to Molokini and the turtle island so that was disappointing but you can't control the weather. The places the captain took us were still very beautiful and the water was ideal for snorkeling

The crew of Lani Kai and photographer/snuba instructor (Joe White) were all AMAZING! Our first snuba experience was the best water activity we have ever done!! We highly recommend trying snuba diving if you think you might want to get your scuba diving ticket ... a lot of FUN and gets you used to using a regulator/hose.

Excellent experience! The captain and crew were Amazing! Our 15 year old loved snuba diving! The fish were so much better than Caribbean.......would recommend Lani Kai to others in a heartbeat!

My husband and I went on the Lani Kai to snorkel on our honeymoon and it was the PERFECT experience! We wanted a smaller crowd than the other options and this was a good size - maybe 25 people. It wasn't the most high-end experience, but you're going for the snorkeling anyway, so it doesn't matter! We SNUBA-ed and it was well-worth the money. It gave us a great experience that we will never forget! Invest in a go-pro with a water-proof case!! It will change your whole experience. What really made the trip was THE STAFF. A+++ All boats go to the same place, so you'll see the same stuff in the water, but the staff on this ship felt like old friends. They were kind, honest, and funny. We felt very safe and welcomed while we were on the Lani Kai. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Staff is awesome, definitely try the snuba, it's incredible. Best way to experience the magical underwater world of corals, fish, and turtles.

The team and crew of the Lani Kai were fantastic! The trip was fun and laid back, breakfast was available, lunch was also served, and an open bar with drinks made by the staff were also available after lunch was served. Aside from how friendly and knowledgeable everyone was, the snorkel trip to Molokini Crater and Turtle Beach was great! We got to be in the water for over two hours and it was totally worth it! Snuba was available for an extra cost but that’s it, everything else was included! Thanks to the Lani Kai for making our snorkel trip a great one!

Awesome crew! Experienced, friendly, and well organized. This is the best company to go with if you are looking for an authentic experience where you're not treated like just a number. We saw many other boats that were huge and overcrowded and we are so happy we chose these guys :) We are now seriously considering getting our scuba certification just based on this experience. Highly recommended!

Amazing time!! Staff was great and our snuba instructor Kiwini Hall was awesome! Joe does make the best mai tai drink on the island!!! Highly recommended!

Couldn't have asked for a better snorkel excursion...the boat wasn't too crowded and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I guess that's why they call it friendly charters! We got to molokini early enough that it wasn't too crowded.

Had a great time on our Mololini and Turtle Town cruise. We did the morning cruise. Our concierge recommended this company. He said that a lot of the tour companies say they'll hit both sites yet don't end up going to the second one. Sure enough, it was a beautiful day yet we were the only boat that went to the second location. That actually turned out to be better snorkeling than Molokini. The crew was great and very helpful. They had optical masks for all 4 of us at no extra cost. The lunch was also good. I would highly recommend them.

We booked a Lani Kai snorkel + snuba (which we paid extra for) Molokini and Turtle Town morning trip. We failed to go either of those places, and instead they took us to a third location called coral gardens because of wind. Another company had already taken us to coral gardens (also due to wind), and we were specifically interested in seeing new locations. I had called Lani Kai the morning of the trip, told them of the situation and that we were only interested in going to Molokini/Turtle Town, since it was our last night in Maui. On the phone, they told us that we would probably go to Molokini, which we did not. Our snuba experience was also underwhelming. Our snuba instructor was nice and great but we only snuba'ed for around twenty minutes before we got pulled back because of wind. We did not get to see much coral on our snuba - we mostly just saw sand while we circled around the boat. On top of all that, we were charged extra for the wetsuits, even though they are more or less necessary for the sn9uba. What's next, charge us for the fins? it's just another way to squeeze 10$. (I originally was going to designate two stars for this review but since friendly charters did not return my email; I removed a star)
