I wasn't sure I wanted to spend this much money on a boat tour and when I found out winter months didn't include snorkeling I considered cancelling. I'm so glad I kept the reservation. What a wonderful experience. We saw things from the boat that couldn't be experienced any other way. The views were magnificent and although the audio from the captain was poor, the audio from the front person was great. I was surprised how stable the catamaran was in those big swells. We saw whales, flying fish and watched the interaction between sea birds and their symbiotic relationships. Very interesting. The scenery was awe inspiring

Trip was terrific and the workers made it especially special. They were individually talking with groups telling about the area and bent over backwards to make sure everyone aboard was comfortable and had a great time. Winter weather brings more dangerous waves so we couldn’t snorkel or go inside caves, but they got as close as possible and we still jumped in the water further offshore. In addition to seeing the beautiful coast, we also saw lots of spinner dolphins and four wales.

Amazing crew, great boat! Shout out to Captain Mike, Kana, and Lionel on the NaPali Kai III. If we do any kind of boat tour in Kauai again, whether its NaPali coast, whale watching, or a sunset cruise, I'll be looking at Makana Charters as our first option. We had a fantastic time cruising the NaPali coast and saw dolphins and whales while learning about the early Hawaiians. Highly recommend!

My wife and I chose Makana Charters – Na Pali Kai III for our Nāpali Coast tour, and it was absolutely amazing. We’ll never forget the experience. The crew was incredibly polite, friendly, and full of knowledge. They shared great information about Kauai—places to visit, things to check out, and tips that really helped us plan the rest of our trip. I definitely recommend doing this tour early in your stay. That way you’ll have time to explore the spots they suggest, and if the ocean has big swells, you’ll still have time to rebook. We felt completely safe on the Na Pali Kai III, and they provided sandwiches, sodas, juice, and water on board. To top it all off, we were lucky enough to see dolphins and humpback whales. Truly an unforgettable adventure. Highly recommend!

We had a magical morning on the Amelia K! The crew was amazing and we saw bottlenose dolphins, spinner dolphins, and a couple of humpbacks 🤩. 10/10, would recommend!

Great charter, been with them 3 times now and wouldn’t go with anyone else! The captain Rob was great, personable and knowledgeable! The seas were a bit rough but the entire crew made us feel comfortable the whole trip! Didn’t get to snorkel because of the rough water, but they found a place calm enough where we could jump in the beautiful deep blue Hawaiian waters and swim! And the scenery?!?! Not a more beautiful place on earth! (In my opinion 😃) If you’re going to see the Nā Pali coast book with Liko Kauai Cruises!!!

Great adventure. The captain is very knowledgeable of the area and skilled in his craft. We saw a few whales and some beautiful coastline. The crew was super helpful and friendly as well. I highly recommend this group.

We had an amazing experience touring the Napali Coast with Makana Charters. The coastline was absolutely stunning, and our crew members were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great information about local history, beaches, hikes, and tons of fun facts. We also got to see dolphins and whales. A few of us felt a little seasick during the trip, and I was so impressed with how attentive and caring the crew was. They immediately checked on us and found a calm, beautiful spot for us to stop and swim, which helped so much. I’ve been on several boat tours before and have never experienced a crew as thoughtful and proactive as this one. Makana Charters truly made the day unforgettable. I would absolutely book with them again. Highly recommend!

We booked a boat tour with Makana charters boat tour company to visit the Napali coast. The tour was a 5 hour long boat ride along the coast. The Napali coast is the second longest cliff beach in the world. You can only access this stunning landscape by boat or helicopter tours. We spotted whales and several hundred dolphins in the morning tour not too far from the coastline. This is a must-do in Kauai. Absolutely breathtaking views, like no other! A sandwich, chips and beverages were provided on the tour. We got lucky with the weather and were able to do some snorkelling on our way back to the shore. The crew on the boat were super friendly and took pictures and helped a few folks get over their sea sickness. We had an absolutely amazing time and they helped make it memorable! Highly recommend this business!

I loved the tour, but with the bad weather, I don't know why they didn't cancel it. It rained for over an hour, and we were soaked and wet. It was very hard to enjoy the tour. We couldn't take pictures together because our clothes were soaked, and my hair got all wet. Not a curl in sight! You guys know the weather in advance, and when it's raining like that, think about the customers and just cancel the trip. The crew and the captain were amazing, though. I really feel and requesting a partial refund.
