We had an incredible experience with Makana Charters. The day started out rainy and we weren’t sure how it would turn out. It ended up being absolutely beautiful!! The crew was so sweet! They took care of every comfort we needed and made a special effort to share stories about the island. The boat Na Pali Kai III was very comfortable and we felt safe the entire time. Captain Mike was very experienced and he knew where to go to see dolphins, whales, and good snorkeling spot. On the ride back, it was an exciting way to ride the waves! Mahalo!

Our private tour on the Seiko 1 was perfect!! 4 adults and 4 older teens. Captain A’a and Kana were extremely knowledgeable, funny, friendly and helpful. The water was too rough and visibility poor so no snorkeling but the sun came out and the boys sunbathed, jumped off the top of the boat, and found a couple whales on the way home. The Na pali coast is truly a once in a lifetime place to visit I can’t recommend this tour enough. As for captain A’a and Kana.

We just returned from a great boat ride on the NaPali coast. We saw two large pods of dolphins, two whales and the beautiful coastline as close as the boat could go. The staff was attentive to all the passengers and made sure we saw all the sites.

Captain Mike and his crew provided an amazing experience touring the NaPali Coast on the Amelia K. The views of this primitive, and mostly inaccessible, coast from the sea were breathtaking. The crew's deep connections to the area, going back hundreds of years, really resonated in their storytelling. We spent a week cruising the Hawaiian Islands and this was by far our favorite adventure.

We went on the afternoon boat tour yesterday on the Amelia K, with our boys age 9 and 11. It was our first time doing this type of excursion and it was so much fun with breathtaking views of the coast. Bonus seeing some dolphins, sea turtles, a humpback mom and baby, and a missile launch from the base. Kids had a blast being at the front of the boat catching waves. Captain Makana and his crew were super knowledgeable and experienced, they were very prepared to make sure everyone was safe and having a good time! We were too early for swimming and snorkeling (starts May 1st), so we will be back again! Happy to support a local family-owned business!

Fully met expectations, all upfront instructions and agenda review were clear. Guides very accommodating entertaining the children on board. If possible, improve speaker acoustics toward the front of the boat.

We did the NaPali Coast tour. Captain Tim along with Jay, Kana and Leroy took us on a 5 hour tour. In addition to the stunning NaPali Cost we saw hundreds of dolphins and a few whales. We went into sea caves, snorkled beneath a several thousand foot cliff and had lunch. The narration on the trip was interesting and fun. The NaPali is a natural wonder and worth the trip. Everything else was just a bonus.

This company is first rate. So much aloha they share with their guests. The Amelia K is so stable. Not one person got seasick on our trip of the Napali Coast. It was a beautiful experience. The views are unparalleled and the opportunity to swim with 300 Dolphins that came through when we were in the water snorkeling..a once in a lifetime thrill. I highly recommend this company and next trip to Kauai we will be using them again!

This is probably one of those deals where you wish you could leave six stars. It didn’t start off too great though. It was a torrential downpour to begin with and cold (we took the morning 8 AM tour). But luckily, we had rain jackets. If we had rain pants, we would’ve been golden. But as the Captain told us, it cleared up in about an hour and a half. He took us into some incredible beautiful views. Told us all about the landscape and the history. We got to see turtles, dolphins and whales. We did not have the opportunity to snorkel. Because of the heavy rains, the water was just too murky and would not have been worth it. Yes, I can highly recommend this outfit. My wife and I don’t really know if we can get seasick easily or not. So we decided to follow the recommendations off the website. We took some Dramamine the night before and in the morning right before we launched. And never had an issue at all. I’m very glad we did this. Because yes, somebody on the cruise did get 🤢. I’m going to bet they didn’t take any motion, sickness stuff. The staff and crew were very helpful, professional and super friendly. And the captain had a great sense of humor.

Very professional and caring crew. Captain Makana showed us all the best places. We even got into sea caves. We saw lots of wildlife including wales, dolphins, green sea turtles and lots of sea birds. The views of the coast were spectacular. I highly recommend this boat and the crew.

This was my first time in Hawaii and this boat tour was amazing! Makana, Jay and Leilani were all so knowledgeable and fun!! They really made the experience 10x better. We saw dolphins and whales (even a baby!) , went into sea caves, and were given time to swim off the boat. I also appreciate that they had drinks, lunch, and bathrooms on board. I cannot recommend this tour and this team enough!
