The trip was better than expected. We got to go into 3 different caves, snorkeled for about 25 minutes and made it to Kalalua valley. The boat ride on Napali Kai III was smoother than I thought, none of my family got sick and we are all prone to motion sickness.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience that was only made better by the expertise and positive energy from Captain Rob, Elijah, and Neah. They made the Napali coast tour effortless and fun, and I appreciated them slowing down at times to point out the amazing wildlife around us like spinner dolphins, birds, and even goats in the mountains. I would recommend Makana Charters to anyone!

We had a fantastic trip with Captain A'a and his son. They were very knowledgeable and funny too! Dolphins, sea caves, waterfalls, and swimming in the ocean. Forever memories. Mahalo!

We had a wonderful day touring the Napali coast with Captain Tim and Ethan! Tim has some skills - backing into sea caves! We saw tons of spinner dolphins and were able to snorkel in a great spot. Fantastic day on the water!

The pilot and two crew made the experience much more than we ever expected! We saw areas along the coast that were jaw-dropping, received history of each area and even had a chance to snorkel! Highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful day with this boat crew. Very knowledgeable about the island and Hawaiian culture. Amazing views of Napili coast. Snorkeling was great and the captain even took us into some sea caves. Also delicious lunch and cold drinks served on this tour. Highly recommended!

Simply an amazing experience! Our Na Pali Coast charter with Makana Charters was one of the highlights of our trip. **Update** I found out I can possibly get a refund through the credit card I used via a trip interruption benefit the card has. I called the tour company to get proof from them that we did not attend the tour and received no refund. In that phone call, I learned that the tour company may give me half of the money back for the tour if I provide proof that I was in the hospital. I appreciate them sharing that option with me as we were unaware of that before. The tour company will work with individuals in extreme situations such as this to help them out as long as adequate proof can be provided.**** Original post: Due to a sudden medical emergency that sent me to the hospital, we missed our Friday tour. My husband called while driving me to the ER to notify them. The representative kept a professional tone and said she would check with management to see if any accommodation could be made to resell our seats (If our seats were resold we could be eligible for a refund) there was no follow-up and we never received a call back. We fully understand that rules are rules and that last-minute cancellations fall outside their refund window. When booking the tour the rules are made clear. Still, to lose $450 with no service provided and no willingness to even consider standby or a later date during an unavoidable emergency felt completely transactional. Be aware before booking that their policies are completely rigid, regardless of genuine health emergencies. As someone who deals with unpredictable health emergencies that require ER visits, booking non-refundable excursions always adds an extra layer of trickiness. I completely understand why companies need policies to protect their business, but it just really stings to be on the receiving end of that rigidity when a genuine medical crisis hits.

The highlight of our Kauai vacation was our Na Pali Coast tour with Captain A'A and Jamie. They are so knowledgable and clearly love what they do. Captain A'A backed our boat into two sea caves (which look a lot bigger online than they do in real life). They found a pod of dolphins for us to enjoy and WOW, talk about a lifetime memory! Truly incredible!

We had an amazing, thrilling and special time on our Na Pali coast tour with our talented guides, Captain Shawn and Elijah. The water was rough and snorkeling was not an option, but we still felt like we got our money's worth, including the best picnic lunch location that we've ever had! ;) We were grateful to support local businesses during our time on Kauai after Lowell and everything they've endured since. We would definitely book with Makana Charters again!

We did the morning tour with Jaime and Ahah and it was the most amazing thing we've done on our entire vacation. They were so nice and had so much interesting information about the area. The scenery along the Nepali coast was indescribable. I highly recommend this tour and their boat specifically. I will most definitely be doing this again when I come back to Kauai

First of all, the customer service here was AMAZING from the time I called Makana Charters when they were closed do to the hurricane right up until the very end of our excursion. The communication in directions and instructions to our tour departure location was so clear. Tony, Jasmine and Tim were so fun, friendly and had so much interesting information and history to share with us. The sights were breathtaking and the boat ride was so fun!
