Along the way, he engaged us with stories about his hometown, Boston, so he knows what he is talking about. After the food tour, we continued with the Freedom Trail history of Boston, and it was exceptional as well. He took us into places we may have skipped over and he took us to places we asked about even if they were a bit out of the way. Nothing was too much for him to do. I seriously doubt you’ll eat better than on this journey. Okay, not fine dining — but it was a terrific introduction to Vienna’s cafe culture, and I’ve yet to experience a better schnitzel (this tour will ruin other restaurants for you). Like so many cultures, the best eats were in the hole-in-the-wall places. If you want the famous, touristy places, look elsewhere — this tour is for folks who want to see Vienna as a local (as advertised), and learn a bit of local lore along the way. No need for breakfast, or dinner, with this tour. You’ll sample all sorts of sweets and savories, with a very full stomach. And our tour guide, Marianne, ensured we took a pace everyone could keep, was friendly, and a terrific source of info. Truly, a fulfilling tour. Highly recommended!

Die Tour hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Preis-Leistung absolut in Ordnung. Uns wurden kleine Läden in dritter Reihe gezeigt, die wir alleine nie betreten hätten. Leckere Dinge probiert. Einzige Kritikpunkt: unser Guide war nicht ganz leicht verstehen, aber sonst war alles top! Wir waren in einem Secondhand-Kimono-Laden, einem sehr schönen Souvenir-Laden, haben japanisches Gebäck gefüllt mit Bohnenpaste getestet, Reiscracker, Sweet Sake, Side-dish Croquette mit Kartoffel und Beef, waren in einem Teeladen, der von einem Franzisen geführt wird und haben eine Papier-Company, Messerladen und einen Fächerladen. Es war wirklich viel, was uns präsentiert wurde. Ganz toll!
