The Best Way to See the Vatican in the Summer

There is so much to see and learn about on this tour, it was an excellent use of time! Our tour guide, Sarah, was knowledgeable and gave an excellent tour full of interesting basic facts and included some lesser known details. Our only drawbacks for the tour couldn’t really be helped but are good to know- although we went early (8:30 a.m.) in early June, it was already very hot in many parts of the building. There were also many other tours happening at the same time, so it wasn’t as empty of crowds as I expected. Also, there were some areas our family would have enjoyed staying a little longer, but we needed to keep moving to stay on schedule with the tour. It’s also good to know that due to a Japanese company owning the photo and video rights to the Sistine Chapel, there are no photos or videos allowed in that part. I would still give this tour five stars despite these drawbacks, because the things we saw during the allotted time were done so well. This was definitely a great memory for our family (parents and a teenager), and I would recommend it to others!

Excellent tour ! Marcelo...

Excellent tour ! Marcelo our guide was superb. Took us through all the highlights and had deep knowledge on all topics pertaining to the tour. Very engaging ! Tried best to arrange meeting with pope , but alas , another time !

Vatican- the place itself is breathtaking and entire experience was made even more enjoyable thanks to Mr Ricardo (apologize if the spelling is incorrect). His passion for art and his willingness to share insights into the artistic legacies of Michelangelo and Raphael made the visit both fascinating and memorable.

Excellent Vatican Tour by Assunta! Wonderful tour! Easy to schedule, and the directions to the meeting location were accurate and easy to follow. We met Asunta, our guide, and she did an EXCELLENT job showing us various beautiful areas of the Vatican and museums. We she so good describing the influence of the artists, and many of the meanings of the artwork. 11 out of 10 stars. Absolutely recommend. There is a lot of walking, but no one in our group had any issues. Be prepared for the summer heat. There are a few moments where you are in direct sunlight for ten minutes are so. One important note we weren't aware of prior to the tour: you will not be allowed to photograph or record anything within the Sistine Chapel.

Best Tour I’ve Taken

Villa Borghese was on the top of my list for my trip to Rome. I had high expectations. Within the first 15 minutes of the tour Christina exceeded my expectations immensely. She was incredibly knowledgeable, funny and kind during our tour. She told us things that I had no idea about several pieces. She’s the best tour guide I have had anywhere and recommend anyone to take this tour. If they’re lucky they’ll be blessed with Chistina as a guide. 15 out of 10 experience.

Excellent tour. Our guide was great -Gaga. Knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Great English. Managed to move us around efficiently without making us feel hurried. Small group of 8 which was excellent. Good communication with ear phone. Highly recommend

Vatican Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica

Very interesting and a must to do. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. There is a lot of walking involved but done at a nice easy pace taking plenty of stops along the way. The price was a bit high though

Vatican tour

This tour was amazing!!! Worth doing 100%! I am so glad i pre booked before i went as it saved time and meant we did not have to queue in the heat too! I learnt so much and the views were stunning! The tour guide was amazing :) such a lovely person and was very knowledgable! I would give them a 10/10!

Great Tour and Guide Sarah

The Tour Guide Sarah was exceptional in that she recognized that I had a mobility disability and ensured that we were with the group during the tour. She additionally, provided us with directions to available elevators within the museum to help avoid stairways where possible. Sarah was knowledgeable with the museum and pointed out numerous historical artifacts as well as artwork which the museum is teeming with. I would definitely request Sarah as a tour guide again. I would recommend anyone with a mobility disability to think twice before taking this tour, and I would suggest to the tour company to think about developing a tour for people with mobility disabilities.

Amazing Experience

Emanuela was such an amazing local guide! Knowledgeable, funny and quick! Our meeting place was simple, the audio devices were an amazing addition, so we could hear even tho our guide was steps ahead of us. We stayed on time schedule and were given plenty of opportunities for photos.

We had a wonderful tour of the Borghese Galleria with Federica, our guide for the tour. She was an amazing guide who is extremely knowledgeable & she also works at the galleria on art installations. We learned so much over our 2 hour visit and came away with a much deeper understanding of the art on display. 5 Star tour

Vatican and Sixtine insiders guide

This visit was amazing! Highly recommended -- our guide Assunta was fantastic - super knowledgeable, happy to answer all our questions, pointing out really unusual things to focus on and just make the whole tour interesting, memorable and not overwhelming! Unprofesslional Guide

Guides for the Vatican should be aware that some of their group may actually be Catholic. My guide was Fred. He did a good job showing us the Vatican Museums. When we went into the Sistine Chapel, we were told to be silent. He immediately made a phone call which I thought was unprofessional. He then had a conversation with someone while we were looking at the beautiful chapel. Through our audio devices, we were listening to his side of the conversation. He said he believed Jesus was a man and not the Son of God. He also believed that Jesus was married, probably to Mary Magdalen. I don't have a problem with someone having their own opinion but he should have turned off his microphone. To me, I was listening to blasphemy while looking at a chapel that is very important to my faith. Not professional at all.
