We had a fantastic tour with Elly - she was so knowledgeable and informative. We loved seeing the glass making and the lace making. It was a good blend of free time and guided selections. You have about an hour in burano and an hour in murano to wonder around get a coffee/lunch. We recommend visiting La Gatto Negra on Burano for lunch - it’s fantastic a great way to get some local seafood.

Our bus driver did an awesome job. I felt completely comfortable in his hands. Our two tour guides, Sam and Critica, were absolutely wonderful!! Sam literally told us the entire story of “D day” - right out of his mind!!! IT WAS SO INTERESTING!! And Critica did a great job on keeping us entertained with facts from France and why everything is called what it is. That was very interesting too! Of course the places we went! The things we saw! It was well organized. The lunch was ok. We had a choice of steamed fish with sauce and fries, ham with sauce and fries or pizza. And Apple Tarte for dessert. We highly recommend anyone interested in going to Normandy to take this tour!! You won’t regret it!!

O passeio em si é otimo! Mas, é tudo muito corrido. E na hora do almoço a única opção é comer pizza marguerita!!! Não tinhamos outra opção. Ou teríamos que esperar chegar em outra cidade pra tentar almoçar outra coisa.

Guide was great and quite amusing and gave us a good insight of the history. Reasonably quiet as it's not peak season. Would definitely recommend.

Maria was an amazing tour...
Maria was an amazing tour guide! We learned a lot. I appreciated how she was very clear about about how historians know certain facts. And I loved how she showed us pictures to bring to life what we were seeing. Overall great tour for the right price, highly recommend!

Amazing tour....a must
This is a fabulous tour of Normandy and a must for every American to see!!! Our tour guide was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about everything we saw and hundreds of facts about WW2. He was humorous and serious at the right times and kept our attention the entire time. The tour is a 12 on a scale of 10. That doesn't mean there aren't room for improvements and there are many. I'll start with the pickup point which is basically a street corner. When we came out of the metro at 6:30am and it was pitch black. My pet peeve with Paris is that there are no street signs on the crosswalk poles which would be easy to see. The street signs are on the buildings which in the dark is not happening. So we came up the stairs from the metro into a street hub of about 5 streets and even with Google maps we had no idea which way to head. I knew if we made the wrong decision we would miss the bus. Remarkably I made the right choice and after a fast walk we saw the red tail lights of a bus arriving with only 3 minutes to spare. So the moral of the story is that the tour should provide written street by street directions from all metros surrounding the pickup point...and choose a much better spot. After 2 hours we stopped for "breakfast" at a gas station. A little weird. Maybe a brown bag breakfast and coffee with no stop would be better. We went to a WW2 museum in Normandy which was fabulous. On the way our tour guide provided many facts about the area, battles, and personal stories from vets that had been on the tour. We went to the American cemetery where over 9000 men/women are buried. A touching experience. This is off season and we practically owned the place. Our tour guide said sometimes in the summer it takes 2 hours just to exit the parking lot. It was very cold and windy near the ocean so dress warm. We then went to some German bunkers at point-du-hoc where Army rangers landed and had to scale a huge cliff to take out artillery and machine gun bunkers. Quite the site to see old concrete bunkers and huge craters that US destroyers created. We then had lunch at a little restaurant near the ocean. You pick one of 3 meals. I didn't talk to anyone that enjoyed their lunch. I've had better frozen pizza. The worst meal we had in Paris. Our next stop was an apple farm to do a cider tasting. That was interesting and we bought some alcoholic cider as gifts to take home. Then it was home and another stop at a gas station for a "snack". On the way home the tour guide spoke of many WW2 movies, many I have seen, and yes there are a lot of good ones. He also did give some Paris restaurant tips.
