Horrible Experience, good tour but not what I booked!
Imagine traveling 1,000 miles for a holiday to visit Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Positano, only to be turned away, insulted, and told to request a refund and go back to your hotel! My party and I had a fantastic experience with City Wonders in Tuscany, which made us excited for our upcoming trip to Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Positano. However, when we arrived at the meeting point at 7:10 AM, we were informed that our booking was for the day before due to a system error. We were told to request a refund and go back to our hotel, with no apologies or solutions in sight. We were passed around from one City Wonders operator to another, and only one person seemed remotely interested in helping us. Despite showing them our tickets, which clearly indicated that this tour was booked for Friday, February 21st, they had the audacity to tell us the tour was full and we couldn’t join. Are you kidding me?! City Wonders took zero accountability for their mistake and instead blamed TripAdvisor for not updating the booking correctly—despite the fact we made this reservation over a month ago! To top it off, one of the operators had the nerve to insult our intelligence with cheap, nonsensical explanations. They were rude, dismissed our concerns, and gave us the runaround about the tickets like we were in the wrong. Only one operator—an Italian man with dark hair—seemed to care at all and managed to squeeze us into a later tour to visit Sorrento. This, however, was not the tour we had paid for, and it was not what we wanted. While the tour guide and drivers (Paula and Geono) were kind and accommodating, this entire experience was a complete failure. I am absolutely furious with City Wonders for not taking responsibility for their mistake. I can’t even rate this specific tour because I booked and paid for one thing, only to be forced into a tour I never wanted. Avoid this company at all costs

Normandy Trip
Excellent trip to Normandy. Our guide John, was extremely knowledgeable and helped bring each site to life. John had good insight and stories for each location we visited. Highly recommend this tour as an enjoyable day out of Paris.

A day in Normandy
John was our tour guide and he did a stupendous job of keeping us on point through the museums and stops to maximize our experience. His historical knowledge mixed with a sense of humor made the day trip move along seamlessly. I never felt rushed, but this trip made me yearn for more. If you are lucky enough to have John as your guide, I am sure you will have a similar experience too!

An idyllic tour of Lake Como
We went on this tour in September last year with Jo and Antonio and had the most delightful day. The bus was very comfortable and Antonio's driving was excellent. Jo, our guide, was very knowledgeable, passionate and funny. Her communication was clear and her commentary was very informative. We were lucky that the weather was sunny and we very much enjoyed the boat trip on Lake Como. In Bellagio, Jo recommended the beautiful gardens at Villa Melzi and we spent most of our time in Bellagio wandering the gardens. Sorry about the late review but I just wanted to share the great day we had and thank Jo and Anthony. Highly recommend.

Amazing day trip to D-Day Beaches!!
John our tour guide was amazing! His knowledge of the history was so insightful! He pointed out everything and keep our group moving so we actually got to drive by Omaha beach on the way to the American Cemetery! Lunch was good have a choice of Ham or Fish. There was water and Cider on the table to was it down. This was the best group tour I’ve ever been on. What a great day trip from Paris.

Amazing day in Pompei and Positano
This was a lovely day! Heather was an amazing guide - very charming and funny. And Nicola was the perfect guide for Pompei! I would absolutely recommend.

Pompeii what an experience!
City Tours guide Viviana was fantastic, gave clear instructions, very knowledgeable, so warm and welcoming. Our coach driver Antonio, again very good. First stop Pompeii was outstanding. Our guide Giorgio Petraccone was the best. Gave a brilliant tour, lots of interesting info but didn’t bombard us. Pompeii city is an incredible place to visit, to see it and experience it. We didn’t realise it was as big as it is. Would love to see a tour that covers more of the city. Second stop Positano on the Amalfi Coast was beautiful, but we feel it would have been better to have the whole day in Pompeii. Would most definitely recommend a visit to Pompeii.

Great trip
Very well laid out trip. The bus ride was split in half with a 20 minute break to get food and use the bathroom, which was great! The tour of pompeii was just under 2 hours and we had an amazing tour guide, though in just 2 hours you see very little of the actual city. If you're very interested, I'd say do a much longer trip! However, positano and the amalfi coast were beautiful (though quite expensive). It was a side to Italy we probably wouldn't have seen if not taking this tour. We also had wonderful tour guides, Vivianna and Nicola. In February, it was quite sunny aswell while there still not being many other tourists, and that made the tour 10x more enjoyable.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable. She walked very fast and there is so much to see. The tour goes up and down a lot of stairs so wear good shoes.

Awesome trip!!
Awesome trip and the long bus ride was broken up nicely with a quick rest stop break midway. There are usb charging ports and wifi on the bus. There are plenty of stairs but it is broken up nicely. Daniel and Oname were very knowledgeable and funny! We thoroughly enjoyed this once in a lifetime trip.

💯 % worth it!
Enjoyed an excellent day on this tour. Our guide displayed a perfect mix of info expertly laced with just the right amount of humor! I did a very memorable self tour 30 years ago on the 50th, but this guided tour filled in a lot of gaps that a self tour just can’t close. Bravo to our guide John!!!
