Recommended tour

Our guide was Nicola. He was funny, knowledgeable and patient with some members of the group who were challenging (expressing annoyance at not seeing every specific exhibit they wanted to see, making inappropriate comments about pilgrims etc). There were bathroom breaks built into the tour. Nicola knew all the shortcuts and was on good terms with the staff. His passion for history was evident. The tour took in a lot in a short space of time. There is no way to see everything on a tour like this but we got a flavour. If you have high hopes for seeing any specific piece in the museum this isn't the tour for you. The Vatican Museums were heaving and this was late afternoon. The pace is quick and it's easy to fall behind, so bear in mind there isn't time to stop and read placards etc. My only criticisms are that the tour company, City Wonders, asked us to queue along the meeting point uq the stairs in full sun. Perhaps okay in April but in summer this could be quite dangerous as there were elderly people and children waiting to check in. We were also advised to bring our passports and give them names of those in the group. Our tickets did not have names on and we were never asked for ID.

Long day but very well...

Long day but very well worth it, although the time in Positano was short the area is beautiful a little more time allowed would have been magnificent. Pompeii was amazing as well! Well organized.

Pompeii and Sorrento

Pompeii was amazing. Even though we had dreary weather with a few raindrops, it was an unforgettable experience. Our guide at the site, Claudia, was informative and easy to understand. She pointed out interesting facts and went at a comfortable pace. The bus tour guide, Francisca, gave us just the right amount of narrative along the way. Our drive, Fabio, was a skillful navigator around the hills of the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. Francisca took us through the town of Sorrento to a beautiful overlook of the waterfront. We found a cozy cafe for coffee and a lemon grove that served the most delicious lemon gelato! The stop between the destinations served food and had wine samples, etc in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! We were 19 minutes early at the meeting point given to us by the tour operator. The meeting point mapping was completely wrong ie NOT the actual meeting point. We checked with the operator by text, we were told they would respond in 48 hours ie completely miss the tour. When we called the phone number we were sent a new meeting point 1.3 km away - 21 minutes after the tour had already started. When we asked to join another tour (they run tours every 30 minutes); they could not accommodate us at all; when we asked to rebook they said they didn’t have any tickets available for weeks forward. No one took responsibility for sending the wrong meeting point to us. We are now trying to get a refund. Bottomline - it’s a horrific experience. To imagine we flew to Rome to visit the Vatican and the whole trip is shot.

Fantastic Day in Murano & Burano with Carletta

We had the pleasure of having Carletta Gin as our tour guide for our Murano and Burano trip, and she was absolutely fantastic. Carletta has an incredible wealth of knowledge about Venice and its rich history, and she shared it with such passion and clarity throughout the tour. She provided great insights about both islands, making each stop even more meaningful and memorable. On top of that, she was extremely personable and friendly, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming. We highly recommend this tour—and especially Carletta—as a guide. She truly made the day special!

Beautiful Castles and Gardens.

Maja and Raymond were so great and informative about the locations and Paris in general. We had a great time exploring the castles and the town of Blois.
